AC Cobra 427 496 CID V8 1965

General description : Now for sale in our Houston Showroom is this sleek LIMITED EDITION 1965 Shelby Cobra. This 50th Anniversary Cobra is the first one delivered of the 50 that were produced in total. It is untitled, and still on original MSO. The Shelby company has kept most of the features for the new Cobra much the same as the original 1965 model. They were manufactured with a lightweight body, fully independent suspension, upgraded disc brakes and come as a rolling chassis. The new owners had the option of engine and transmission as well has who installed these components into the car. This powerhouse features the iconic 427 CID V8 that has been bored and punched out to a 496 CID. The engine with built by Shelby and Robert Yates, and not only gives it a rare pedigree, it also gives the car some superior performance capabilities. The engine is aluminum and serial numbered to the car. This engine has only around 55 miles on it since new. Along with the engine the aluminum-cased 4-speed Top Loader has been Serial numbered to the car as well. The engine is mated with a 4-speed manual transmission that rips through the powerband with ease. With all the power being put to the ground, it’s vital to have plenty of stopping power. This beautiful piece of machinery features 4-wheel disk brakes with Wilwood calipers. When purchasing the vehicle there were only 2 color options. You can choose between polished aluminum or the classic blue and white (over the full aluminum body). This one of course got the clean blue and white combo and is in excellent condition and painted by Shelby. Sitting on a set of knock-off wheels this car is show ready and itching for a new owner. The interior of the car features black bucket seats that are in great condition. With the iconic reverse speedometer, fire suppression system, and overall killer appearance this car is not one you want to compete against. The combination of light weight, raw power, and clean overall appearance, you truly can’t find much to complain about. Some additional information includes a complete history file of the vehicle as well as a dyno sheet for the engine. About AC Cobra 427
AC Cobra 427 MK III

The fact that the AC Cobra 427 is the world's most replicated sports car can have both positive and negative effects on the value of the originals. On one hand, the popularity of the car and the proliferation of replicas can help to raise awareness of the original models and increase demand among collectors. On the other hand, the presence of so many replicas can also create confusion and uncertainty among buyers, potentially driving down prices or making it more difficult to find a genuine example.

To ensure that they are buying a genuine Cobra rather than a replica, potential buyers should do their due diligence and thoroughly research the car's history and provenance. This may involve consulting with experts or third-party organizations that specialize in authenticating classic cars, or contacting previous owners or collectors who have knowledge of the car's history.

Some key factors to look for when verifying the authenticity of a Cobra include matching chassis and engine numbers, original documentation or paperwork, and evidence of the car's racing or competition history. It may also be helpful to examine the car's physical characteristics, such as the placement of certain components or details in the interior or engine bay, as these can sometimes be used to differentiate between original and replica models.

Ultimately, the most important thing for a potential buyer to do is to educate themselves about the specific model and to be cautious and thorough in their research before making a purchase. This can help to ensure that they are buying a genuine and valuable classic car, rather than a replica or fraudulent model
