Alpina Other E30 ALPINA C2 2.7 1987

General description : Available only through Sytner's of Nottingham, the Alpina C2 featured a much-improved 2.7-litre version of the 325 engine and a raft of suspension improvements including re-worked geometry as well as a subtle body kit and some tasteful additions to the interior. It's hard to tell how many were built, but the number would appear to be under 160, which make this a much rarer car than the E30 M3. It could also be argued that, with a straight-six, it made a more appealing sound than any of its contemporaries too. The cost at the time was a significant £7,495 + vat for the conversion. The end product had an impressive 210bhp with 213lb ft.

This particular car was converted from a 325i on the 04/06/1987 by Sytner Nottingham, finished in Lachs Silver the extras on top of the standard conversion were as follows:

Rear Differential
ABS Sensors
Front and Rear Spoilers
Side Skirts
Dash Plaque
Alpina Wheels
Alpina Bilstein Suspension kit
Upgraded Stereo and Speakers

About Alpina
Alpina is a renowned German automobile manufacturer that specializes in refining and enhancing BMW vehicles to a higher level of performance, luxury, and exclusivity. Here is an overview of Alpina's history and some of their most significant models that have made an impact on the collector car world:

History:
Alpina Burkard Bovensiepen GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 1965 by Burkard Bovensiepen as an independent tuning company for BMW cars.
Initially focusing on carburetor modifications, Alpina quickly gained a reputation for improving BMW engines' power and performance.
In 1978, Alpina became an officially registered automobile manufacturer, allowing them to produce complete vehicles in their own right.
Over the years, Alpina has developed a close partnership with BMW, and their models are sold through BMW dealerships, offering a unique blend of performance and luxury.
Significant Models:
Alpina B7 Turbo (E12): Introduced in 1978, it was one of Alpina's first successful models. Powered by a turbocharged inline-six engine, it offered impressive performance and became a collector's favorite.
Alpina B10 Bi-Turbo (E34): Released in 1989, it was based on the BMW 5 Series. Its twin-turbocharged inline-six engine produced exceptional power, making it one of the fastest sedans of its time.
Alpina B3 (E46): Introduced in 2000, the B3 was a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series. It featured Alpina-tuned suspension, aerodynamic enhancements, and a powerful inline-six engine, offering a dynamic driving experience.
Alpina B7 (E65/E66): Unveiled in 2004, this flagship model featured a modified version of BMW's V8 engine, enhanced suspension, and luxurious interior appointments. It combined high performance with top-tier comfort and remains a sought-after collector car.
Alpina B10 V8 (E39): Produced from 1997 to 2003, the B10 V8 utilized a modified BMW V8 engine and featured Alpina's distinctive design elements. It was praised for its performance, refinement, and exclusivity.
Collector Car Status:

Alpina's limited production runs and continuous pursuit of automotive excellence ensure that their vehicles remain desirable among collectors and enthusiasts.
In summary, Alpina has established itself as a prominent player in refining BMW vehicles to a higher level, combining performance, luxury, and exclusivity. Their significant models, such as the B7 Turbo, B10 Bi-Turbo, and B3, have made a lasting impact on the collector car world, garnering admiration for their unique enhancements and driving experiences.
