AMC Rambler 327 CID V8 1965

General description : This 1965 Rambler Marlin is for sale in our Louisville showroom. The 65 marlin was first an attempt to eat into the Fastback Mustangs market share. They were quick to finds that was a lofty goal and was remarketed as a personal luxury car with its very nice and clean sophisticated interior. After one year the Rambler name was dropped and the AMC moniker was added making these 65's sought after in today's collector car market. The very distinct fastback design is all to itself being the most dramatic coke bottle shape of all fastback branded cars. The blue with the darker blue paint really exaggerates the fastback shape. The interior on the car is in great condition with the blue vinyl and stainless trim showing very well. Under the hood is the original 327 which is now sporting a demon carb with an electric fuel pump ensuring that spunky 327 is getting enough fuel while helping with cold starts after sitting for a while. The 3 speed automatic feels as it should with positive shifts going up and a distinct feel when giving it gas and it is dropping a gear. These old Marlins are becoming hard to find with the collector market beginning to take hold due to its interchangeable parts from AMC's mass-produced models. If you want something a little different and one that people are guaranteed to say I like it but what is it? Options on this 1965 Rambler Marlin include, AM/FM/CD, Vinyl Interior, Seat Belts, Power steering, Power Brakes, Rally wheels and Radial Tires. - Compact Size and Efficiency: The Rambler was known for its compact size, making it easy to maneuver in urban areas. It also emphasized fuel efficiency, appealing to buyers looking for economical transportation.

3. Significance:

- Influence on Industry: The success of the Rambler and its focus on compact cars influenced the direction of the American automotive industry. Other automakers eventually followed suit and began producing their own compact models.
- Legacy and Collectibility: The Rambler holds a special place in automotive history and is sought after by collectors and enthusiasts. Its innovative design, impact on the industry, and representation of a changing automotive landscape contribute to its significance.
