Buick Super Sedan 1953

General description : 264 NAILHEAD V8, AUTO, REAR AIR BAGS W/REMOTE, THUMPIN' SOUND SYSTEM, UNIQUE 53'

This 1953 Buick Super is pure rock and roll from its custom hood ornament to the blacked out chrome. So the real reason why the windows are so darkly tinted is because a car looks this mean on the outside, you don't always want people seeing you grinning ear to ear from behind the wheel.
Even if there wasn't a skull with a Mohawk leading the way, this one would still be an instant intimidator. Obviously the paint and black chrome did not come from the factory this way, so there was a real investment in the glossy turquoise that seems to glow in the dark. Meanwhile, the large waterfall grille, bumpers, headlight surrounds, and full-length side trim seem to consume all the light create by the bright blue paint. It's the high-shine contrast in the colors that make this car a winner from the moment you lay eyes on it. And as people get closer, they'll see a carefully constructed classic with good panel gaps and doors that shut with authority. Then again, with the exhaust thundering out of this Buick Super's hallmark side portholes, no one might dare get close enough to notice the details!
The interior has also been given the full custom treatment with a turquoise and blue theme that matches the exterior. It's on the door panels, headliner, and custom seats to give this bad boy a true uniform appearance. The color scheme also extends to a custom center console that provides speaker to the front and rear seats. The modern AM/FM/CD stereo with aux input is located on the trunk (along with the "keg" gas tank) so that the dashboard can look clean and stock. This is a great feature on the car because the original dash panel is an art deco masterpiece. The round gauges with stainless faces feel more like timepieces, and all of your controls are centrally located within a waterfall chrome panel. It's a nice reminder that this full custom build is still a classic at its heart.
Under the hood continues the color theme. Sure, the fresh belts and hoses were already black, but the turquoise intake and valve covers really do make for a nice uniform appearance. 1953 was not only Buick's 50th anniversary, but it was also the first year for the Nailhead V8 motor. Despite the odd name, the lightweight design, big torque, and hardy construction make these legendary powerplants. The 264 cubic-inch motor and two-speed Dynaflow automatic transmission are great vintage Buick elements, but when you fire it up, this one sounds like no Buick before it. Those side exhaust ports are like nothing else we've seen or heard before. It gives a car like this the instance presence that its wild looks back up with no apologies. And that's what makes this car so cool.
We know this Buick is not for everyone. Only certain people appreciate a lot of custom work for an affordable price. So if this one has your attention (let's face it, everyone is intrigued by it) then you might want to hurry. Because when it's this unique, you know there's not going to be another like it. About Buick
Buick, today an American automobile division of the American manufacturer General Motors (GM), was founded in 1899 as the Buick Auto-Vim and Power Company, making it the oldest car make in the US.

To us, the most memorable models in Buick's line up have to be the late 40's Roadmasters and 60's stylish Rivieras with strong Italian influences.
