Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz 390 CID V8 1959

General description : Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to present this jaw dropping 1959 Cadillac Convertible for sale in our St. Louis showroom. The same year this big fin beauty rolled off the assembly line. Buddy Holly releases his final album, and Alaska is admitted as the 49th US state. The late great Vince Lombardi signs a five-year contract to coach the Green Bay Packers. This Cadillac is a line of cars produced by Cadillac from 1940 through 1964. The 1959 Cadillac is remembered for its iconic huge tail fins with dual bullet taillights. The new model year also saw two distinctive roof lines and roof pillar configurations, new jewel-like grille patterns and matching deck lid beauty panels. This gorgeous 1959 Cadillac Convertible has had a full frame off restoration. The old frame on the original car was replaced by a frame from a donor Cadillac of the same era. The VIN# matches the frame. It was stripped down to bare metal and put back together better than when it left the factory. We are honored to have it here with us. Engine output was an even 325 hp from the 390 cu in (6.4 L) engine. The 1959 Cadillac was identifiable by its straight body rub moldings, running from front wheel opening to back bumpers, with crest medallions below the spear. A one-deck jeweled rear grille insert. Equipment included power brakes, power steering, automatic transmission, back-up lamps, windshield wipers, two-speed wipers, wheel discs, outside rear view mirror, vanity mirror and oil filter. The convertible model had power windows and a two-way power seat. Hop into this gorgeous big fin Caddy and cruise back in time when gas was only .25 cents a gallon and everyone rode around in a land yacht.
