Cadillac Series 62 Convertible Restomod 454 V8 1950

General description : Description
There's always something extra attractive about a classic Caddy drop-top that has all the right investments to remain a cool cruiser in modern times. This 1950 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible Restomod keeps the vintage looks you love with its sleek and complete presentation, and as you look at all the details, you'll discover an upgraded big block machine that was made for others to envy.
We all may have wanted a Caddy like this, but few ever really got the chance. This was the heyday of American automobiles, and yet, Cadillac produced less than 7,000 Series 62 drop-tops this year. After all, they were priced for only the elite, and 70 years later, it has only become rarer and more desirable. But it's more than just history that attracts you to a convertible like this. Cadillacs of this era are a true exercise in style. Everything from the flying lady hood ornament, to the gas cap hidden behind a flip-up taillight are designed to make every other driver jealous. Of course, everyone knows the true standout is the brightwork. The huge form-hugging bumpers, intricate trim, deep V badging, and everything else you love is complete on this example. And those are even genuine wire wheels with wide whitewalls. It's all showcased against a black paint with a deep gloss from a quality application. It really lets the light radiate as it rolls across the well-kept curves of this Caddy's intricate sheetmetal. So yes, this sunshine-friendly convertible knows how to impress on those sunny Sunday drives.
The black convertible top is a newer piece that looks crisp against the black convertible body. And with the flip of a switch, it powers down to reveal a tastefully bold red interior. New seats, new carpeting, and new door panels all uphold the luxury feeling in modern times. And like a true classic Cadillac, the upholstery is finished in leather. There are some well-integrated upgrades, like power windows, a wood-rimed sports steering wheel, and even a brand-new air conditioning system (it will need a servicing to function.) But this also never loses that classic Cadillac feeling. That's why the even left the factory AM radio there for display. And as you look at the trunk, it's a well-finished presentation that even has the upgraded full-size spare. It's a reminder that this classic Cadillac was also upgraded to be great for road trips.
Cadillac was running some of the biggest and best V8s of the era in 1950, but today, we know there was plenty of room for progress. That's why this big Caddy has been upgraded to proper big block power. The 454 cubic-inch V8 was added with style and care, right down to the way the black valve covers coordinate with the classic air grabber. The big V8 has some nice upgrades, including an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, half-inch spacer, and an Edelbrock intake. There's an upgraded radiator, electric fan, upgraded pulleys, and a large alternator for the proper 12-volt system. It's all designed for a car build for easy cruising. In fact, as you look at the undercarriage photos, you'll also spot upgrades like the updated independent front subframe for a quality ride. You've also got power steering, power brakes, upgraded front discs, and a stout but smooth TH400 three-speed automatic transmission.
This is the cool classic Caddy drop-top that's built to be enjoyed. So you know you can't let this restomod slip away, call today!!!
