Chevrolet 3100 350 V8 1953

General description : VERY SHARP 3100 W/ SLIGHT CHOP AND GREAT RUNNING 350 V8, AUTO, PB W/ FRT DISCS

Featuring a tastefully modified exterior and smooth-running power under its hood, this 1953 Chevrolet 3100 is a great take on the Chevy Advance Series truck line that helped get America back to work in the aftermath of World War II. Not only will its distinctive look draw plenty of attention on the street, but its dependable drivetrain and some well-chosen amenities make it a good match for frequent driving.
This venerable truck came along at a time when Chevy reigned supreme in the pickup category and is part of the Advance Series line that represented its manufacturer's first new post-WWII design. Visually, this truck strikes a great balance - a relatively mild chop leaves it with a thoroughly custom-looking appearance but one that doesn't stray so far from original specs that it loses its vintage mojo. Its proportions look great all over - that modification to the cabin also accentuates the 3100's beefy front end, which sports one of the coolest front grilles Chevy ever equipped a pickup with and the pronounced front and rear fenders really stand out while leaving plenty of viewing room for the custom wheels they contain. Its silver blue metallic color works well in this setting - it's an understated but magnetic shade you don't see that often and is just dark enough to provide a contrasting backdrop to all the trim this 3100 features. Its body panels are aligned nicely - the 3100 has a prominent hood and this one sits well-balanced between the two front fenders, and nice even gaps surround the doors.
The black interior effectively blends vinyl and cloth and is in good condition. The bench seat looks like it's been recently installed and represents a job well done, with plenty of padding, very sturdy stitching and a trio of seatbelts on display. A factory-issue steering wheel sits on the tilt column, while just beyond it the dash area has been thoroughly refurbished and features some aftermarket components that blend well with their factory counterparts. The white-faced iEquus speedometer and tachometer fit perfectly in the instrument cluster and are joined by four more gauges just below. An underdash air conditioning unit has been added to the mix and, with its circular vents is a nice match for the rest of the interior, though the chrome compressor under the hood will need some attention to get this feature back online. An AM/FM/CD stereo stands by to handle your audio needs. The bed area in back looks nice and straight, though the wooden planks interspersed with their supports could use a little refinishing to bring out their best.
This classic truck sports a very road-ready drivetrain, with a 350 cubic inch V8 as its foundation. Sitting in a stock-looking but orderly engine bay with its chrome air cleaner and valve covers, it starts up easily, runs smoothly and sounds strong as it exhales into its headers leading to a dual exhaust. It pairs with a 3-speed automatic transmission that's also in good form, so there'll be no need to deal with clutch pedal drudgery in stop and go traffic. The undercarriage looks clean and straight, with very solid looking floorpans and straight frame rails - pretty impressive for a truck that's more than 60 years old. Power brakes, with discs up front, make stopping this nicely modded Chevy a low effort undertaking as it cruises on a set of 17" Billet wheels.
This 1953 Chevrolet 3100 is a sharp looking truck and its strong running condition makes it a worry-free pleasure to drive. Call today!

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
