Description : Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom is excited to offer this one of a kind 1947 Chevrolet 3100 restomod pickup. This wicked little maroon metallic beast has something for almost every classic vehicle lover: vintage looks, modern amenities, lots of custom features, bright chrome, ultra-trick suspension, a bodacious sounding audio system with downward-firing external speakers, and over 800 twin-turbocharged horsepower! You read that right: over 800HP out of its twin-turboed 6.2L LS3 engine! In fact, the decorative cover plate atop the intake manifold says "900HP" (but we'll take the conservative road and go with what we're told). Backing the big LS is a 4L80E 4-speed automatic transmission with electronic overdrive, so this custom truck is set up to be driven to your next out of town car show! This bad boy is riding on a full custom frame with tubular control arms, fully adjustable coilover shocks at all 4 corners, a parallel 4-link rear suspension, and some Mickey Thompson Street Performance radials (26x8.00R18LT up front, P305/35R20 out back) wrapped around some bright Coys aluminum wheels. A hydroboosted Wilwood 4-wheel disc brake setup with multi-piston calipers and slotted/drilled rotors at each corner provide swift, sure stops for those times you find yourself running at "expensive ticket" speeds. Under hood, you'll find plenty of custom-fabbed plumbing for the twin Precision turbos and their massive aluminum intercooler (hiding just behind the 1955 Chevy Bel Air grille), a huge aluminum radiator with its brushless electric cooling fan, TiAL blow off valves, high output alternator, the power-assisted hydraulic hood lifts, and the custom engine cover that's hiding the FiTech fuel injection setup. You'll have to look harder to find the relocated coil packs, but they're there, tucked out of sight on the frame rails, and they're also color coordinated to the truck. Moving back outside, vintage truck aficionados will note that, in addition to the shaved door handles, the dimensions of this truck's cab differ from an unmodified 1947 GM truck: while the cab has received a 2.5-inch chop, to ensure plenty of leg room for occupants, the cab's overall length has been stretched by 12 inches, and the doors have been stretched by 6 inches, which makes the truck's interior hospitable to the longer-legged among us. To prevent the cab's "smoosh and stretch" customization from changing the visual aesthetic balance too much, the bed was also shortened by 12 inches, leaving the proportions of this cool ride looking just right. Once you finally make it inside, you'll see more custom touches. The dash is from a 1959 Chevrolet, but it houses a new set of vintage-style electronic gauges. The black perforated leather seating, with its bright red piping adds a nice aroma to the cabin, and occupants will appreciate the effective cabin temperature control that the Vintage Air HVAC system provides, along with the tunes that the Pioneer Double DIN-sized head unit supplies. The audio system even has its own separate high-output battery behind the passenger seat. Additional features and options on this restomod pickup include hidden electronic exhaust cutouts, custom-stained oak bed panels with stainless bed floor strips, one-piece door glass, a power-operated rear license plate bracket (that folds up/down when desired), Power Door Poppers, Power Rack and Pinion Steering, and Power Windows. Give our Houston showroom a call or email today to make this one yours!

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
