Chevrolet 3100 Pickup Truck 1955

General description : During the dark days of '70s emissions systems, there was stalwart gearheads. During the disarray of the '80s malaise scene, there was hardcore gearheads. And even now, with increasing cost of ownership becoming the norm, there are still diehard gearheads. No matter where the future leads, there will ALWAYS be lifestyle enthusiasts who build a culture around the rush of turning transportation into art. And, unless you're one of us, it's something you'll never understand. So, what happens when a knowledgeable hot rodder executes a no-excuses build that's meant to be seen AND driven? You get a razor-sharp head turner like this fully sorted Chevrolet 3100! The product of uncompromising vision and serious talent, this sweet Chevy wraps classic aesthetics around an upgraded chassis, a smooth 4L60E 4-speed and proven LS1 power. And, if you're a fellow enthusiast who's looking to satisfy an unrelenting need to conquer the road and stop the show, it's a great candidate for your next classic!
THE NUANCES OF GRAY
Fully sorted and ready to roll, this polished pickup is the beneficiary of a detailed, ground-up build that mixes vintage poise with modern athleticism. A heavy dose of tempered charm comes courtesy of glossy Charcoal Gray two-stage. And today, this custom rolls as a unique yet enduring classic that celebrates the very best of America's indelible car culture! The truck's monochromatic profile kicks off with a polished bumper, which guards a polished grille that's centered between stainless-trimmed headlights and bullet-style parking lamps. A long hood, relieved of its flashy header crest, fronts polished wipers, which clear a smoked Big Window Cab. A debadged profile waves a simple driver's mirror in front of factory door handles. A billet fuel filler garnishes a color-keyed bed that's finished with stainless skid strips and trick tailgate locks. And out back, a second polished bumper protects a familiar Chevrolet tailgate that's centered between relocated LED taillights.
LEGENDARY LS POWER
Take a peek under this classic's glossy hood and you'll find 5.7 liters of stout small block that twists solid power into effortless torque. Straight from the factory, GM's celebrated LS1 combines a sturdy aluminum block with lightweight aluminum heads, coil-near-plug ignition and aluminum flat top pistons to create razor sharp throttle response and lightning quick acceleration. At the front of the engine, a fresh filter cone funnels breeze through a short tube, which feeds a factory throttle body that's cinched to a factory intake. Stock internals spin a factory cam behind a lucid serpentine drive, which hangs a Powermaster alternator opposite a coated AC compressor. High octane fossils are juiced by GM electronic fuel injection and sparked by short Summit plug wires. Spent gases traverse a slick pair of ceramic-coated tubes. Cooling comes courtesy of a big aluminum radiator that's complete with a polished cap, a spry puller fan and a polished expansion tank. And this Chevy's Charcoal Gray engine bay is detailed with niceties like a carbon fiber cowl and a quality Wilwood master cylinder.
TIME TO HIT THE ROAD
Shimmy under this Chevy and you'll find a super clean undercarriage that was built, above all else, to conquer the blacktop. The subdued LS1 twists an equally modern 4L60E 4-speed. That proven drivetrain pushes a traditional Truck Arm rear-clip that's been upgraded with beefy Aldan American coil-overs. Tracking is provided by a Mustang II-style front-clip, which is complete with tubular control arms, two more coil-overs and trick QA-1 tie rod sleeves. Turns come courtesy of power rack-and-pinion steering. Quick stops are a cinch thanks to 4-piston Wilwood calipers, which squeeze drilled and slotted rotors. At the center of the floor, aluminized exhaust routes spent gases through rowdy MagnaFlow mufflers, which rest at the sides of a custom fuel tank. And at the corners of the floor, stylish Schott Mod 5s throw torque through 245/40ZR20 Nitto NT555 G2s and 275/40ZR20 Nitto NT555 G2s.
CUSTOM WITH PURPOSE
But the show doesn't stop there. Not by a long shot! When you pop this pickup's doors, you'll find a charmingly retro cockpit that's graced with just the right amount of modification. Top dead center, a body-matched dash hangs clean Dakota Digital telemetry next to modern, MP3-capable audio and controls for Vintage Air conditioning. Fresh TMI buckets join a small console opposite billet foot pedals, which shade premium carpet. Custom kick panels hang crisp Kenwood speakers in front of custom door skins that are dotted with billet handles. And the driver spins a polished and leather-wrapped steering wheel around a painted, tilting column.
Perpetually cool and uncommonly comfortable, this awesome Chevy is a great example of the omnipresent creativity that defines our hobby. With its top-notch build and proven mechanical prowess, it presents the rare opportunity to land a fully sorted head turner without the fuss of coordinating a stressful, multi-year restoration. Don't miss your chance to own this awesome custom!

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
