Chevrolet 3800 One ton 350 V8 1948

General description : Description
This 1948 Chevrolet 3800 five-window is a nicely restored pickup with all the right extras. After all, it's an extra-duty long bed one-ton Chevy that now also features extra power from the V8, an extra gear from the overdrive transmission, and extra charm from its upgraded appearance. Trucks are supposed to be utilitarian, but Chevy did it with style. The Advance Design pickup really lived up to its name with sleek fenders, chrome bumpers, and a bright five-bar grille that follows the contour established by the hood. They really took their time restoring this one, and so that great classic style is proudly on display. And the extra-long bed means you get even more real lumber on the floor. But you can also tell there's something more here. The blue paint has a crisp and modern luster that signals this one has been upgraded. And while those Pacer wheels have a great shine, they also show off the 3800's correct stronger 8-bolt pattern. There's even a modern trailer hitch on the rear. The desirable five-window cab lets in more light so you can really see the upgraded interior. The seat looks nice with a tasteful black as well as comfy tweed inserts for where you sit. Even the door panels were done to match. This retains the classic style where it can, like in the dash design, but they also upgraded it to be a better modern driver. You see it in well-integrated pieces, like the wood-rimmed steering wheel on a tilt column. Beyond that is an upgraded gauge package that fits within the classic dash housings. While Chevy's inline six was the right powerhouse for '48, this one has been upgraded into a more modern era. It's Chevy's now-famous 350 cubic-inch small block V8. The smooth firewall and polished pieces make it easy to show off. Plus, you'll really like that it has been upgraded for extra power. This includes an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, and shorty headers feeding the dual exhaust. You'll even spot good upgrades for modern driving, like the MSD distributor and an electric fan. It makes for a powerhouse that's both strong and smooth. And the 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission is a stout unit that provides the right gearing for both work time or just overdrive ease. Plus, the power steering and deep tread on modern tires make this a well done confident cruiser. The Chevy 3800 pickup was always built for providing you with extra, and this one really takes that into modern times with extra power, smoothness, and comfort. Call today!!!

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
