Chevrolet Biscayne LS1 5.7L V8 1959

General description : This 1959 Chevrolet Biscayne Wagon is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The Biscayne was the entry level full size model for 1959 having the least interior and exterior trim in its class. This 59 though it may start as a base model it left that life behind. This fully custom 59 has had extensive work done to bring it into the modern age. The car was taken off the frame and put on a rotisserie with the custom paint job applied to the whole car. With the paint done it was time to figure out what kind of drivetrain to out in the one-off custom. The natural choice was an LS1 with their reliable performance it was a shoe in for the job. The 4l60 transmission was the perfect mate for the LS1 giving this wagon the ability to cruise down the highway with ease. With the car painted and the engine and trans ready for duty the last component was getting the right stance. After much consideration the decision was made to not have to decide. A ride-tech air-ride system was installed allowing for any kind of stance you want. Lay it all the way down when you park giving it that unreal look. Set the ride height to your liking and save it in the system so when you hit the key the car jumps up to the that perfect height. With the car back together and ready to move on down the road the last and final thing was interior. Of course, going back stock was out of the question, so a custom leather interior was installed. The low back bucket seats are extremely comfortable with the middle console area allowing for storage. The rear seat has been appointed with the same material with the interior flowing all together. If you have been wanting to get a full custom wagon that can be driven on the daily this one is ideal. Options on this 1959 Chevrolet Biscayne Wagon include, AC, AM/FM, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Windows, Tilt Wheel, Leather Interior, Seat Belts, Ride Control, and Aluminum Wheels wrapped in Radial Tires. This 1959 Chevrolet Biscayne is for sale in our Louisville Showroom and can be seen in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and an HD Video at http://www.gatewayclassiccars.com. About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
