Description : Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this 1958 Chevrolet Biscayne! The late 50's was an great time for the automotive industry! The design teams were true artists of their craft and brought many awesome designs to the table that even today remain timeless. In 1958 Chevrolet introduced the Biscayne. An interesting name as Chevy was intrigued with naming their cars after coastal cities at the time. Such as the Bel Air and later of course the Malibu. The Biscayne would see 5 generations spanning the better part of two decades with its final few years being only in Canada. Interestingly though the first generation was only 1 year, and a 1958 model is what we have here. Wow! Approaching this car you can't help but smile and dream of simpler times. The turquoise paint and white top balance each other very well and just takes your breath away! The black vinyl interior is also in great shape and goes well with the overall tones of this sweet ride. Makes you want to hop in for a cruise on the town with your special someone and take it to a drive-in movie. The frame was taken off this Biscayne and the restoration was completed approximately 13 years ago. Under the hood a crate 350ci v8 was added and the power is ran to the ground through a 2 speed automatic transmission. The current owner has had it for 6 years, purchased from a private owner. The odometer appears to be inoperable. The title is clean and clear and ready to be transferred into your name now! Whether you are an avid collector or just starting out, this gorgeous Biscayne is a great addition! Options on the Biscayne are: Power Steering, Power Brakes, Vinyl Interior, AM/FM Radio, and Alloy Wheels. About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
