Chevrolet C10 454 CID V8 1979

General description : Now for sale in our Houston Showroom is this numbers matching 1979 Chevrolet C10 "Big 10" Pickup. The Big 10 was the powerhouse of this 3rd generation pickup. Also known as "The Heavy Half", these trucks were identified by the #4 as the fourth digit of the VIN. This Big 10 is powered by a 7.4L 454 CID V8. With roughly 10,000 miles on the engine since the rebuild, there is plenty of life left in this pickup. Paired up to a GM TH400 transmission, this truck is a blast to drive. This is a great driver, and even a shop truck if you're in need of a cool classic to promote your own business. Giving a nice stance is a 4' drop on the front with a 3" drop in the rear. For a nice rugged look is the upcoming and desirable patina paint work. This truck was originally yellow and has merely been smoothed, and clear coated preserving the classic look. To allow the air flow to the large engine is a functional '68 Camaro SS cowl that has been molded to fit the original hood. The truck has some pretty high options for its era, which include tilt wheel, power brakes, power steering, dual tank, and tan cloth interior. Sitting inside the truck you will see that it's been left in original condition and has been well maintained through the years. This truck is a great collector's item and cool to take to any local car show. About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
