Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1969

General description : The Ultimate Factory Camaro
1 Of The Original 69 Factory Built
COPO Order # 9560
Rotisserie Restored

LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.

The story of the COPO (Central Office Production Order) Camaro is well known among muscle car enthusiasts. The ability to order specially equipped high performance cars, unknown to the general public, was a loophole around the rules of GM. Making the average iron block 427 Camaro look an everyday occurrence is COPO option code 9560, or ZL1 as it's better known. With only 69 produced all together, ZL1's are the rarest, and the baddest Camaros ever built. They had an all-aluminum (block and heads) 427 cubic inch motor, and they were light, which made them fast. Really Fast. With only professional racers in mind, the cost of this optional drivetrain was an astronomical $4,160, more than the price of a base model V8 Camaro!
This very special factory Camaro was ordered and sold new from Seltzer Chevrolet in Yucon, Oklahoma. The Factory ordered drivetrain consisted of the COPO #9560 all aluminum 427/430hp engine, M21 4 speed transmission and G80 4.10 positraction “BE”12 bolt rear end. It is finished in its factory code 57 Fathom Green exterior, making it one of only 9 built with the 4 speed manual transmission. Jerry MacNeish was asked to view and document the car prior to its restoration in its true "as found" form. After a thorough and complete physical inspection, a painstaking and time consuming complete nut and bolt rotisserie restoration would be completed. The car has only seen test miles since completion and has remained in a climate controlled collection since. The car comes complete with restoration photos, owner history, as well as the inspection report and certificate from Camaro authority Jerry MacNeish. It is of course listed on the confirmed and documented ZL1 Camaro Vin list.
This marks a unique opportunity to purchase a true piece of muscle car history. Rarely does a real 1969 ZL1 Camaro become available, as in most cases they are held in large collections or museums. This Camaro would make a perfect centerpiece for any collection, due to its extreme rarity and outstanding restored condition.
