Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to offer a very nicely upgraded 1997 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 Anniversary Edition. This is a well optioned well cared for Z/28 with only 46,503 original miles on the odometer. The car was optioned beautifully from the factory with white exterior and contrasting orange racing stripes. The interior sports matching white leather interior including bucket seats in the front and rear. Clearly a sports car enthusiast bought this one new, as they chose the 6 speed manual transmission which makes the driving experience much more enjoyable. Stock, the car came with a 5.7 Liter LT1 which is a great engine, but about 1500 miles ago, the owner decided this Camaro needed a few more ponies. They had the LT1 performance built at a speed shop. The engine was bored .030 over and given an LT4 hot cam. It got all new lifters, springs, timing chain, rocker arms, rings, bearings, and gaskets. The end result is roughly 425 naturally aspirated horsepower. With fairly modest exhaust, this makes a great sleeper for those that might mistake it for a stock Camaro. The power delivery is smooth and predictable which makes for a fun car to drive. As if horsepower and a killer paint scheme wasn't enough, this is a T-top car which allows for open air driving without the rag top.
