Chevrolet Camaro 350 V8 1979

General description : COLLECTOR-OWNED, NUMBERS MATCHING, BELIEVED ACTUAL MILES, GREAT DOCS, A++ Z/28!!

Another spectacular survivor second-gen Camaro in an unusual color, this 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is nicely detailed, completely stock, and beautifully preserved. With these cars heating up in the market, the ones at the top of every collector's wish list are going to be authentic, correct, matching-numbers, low-mileage cars just like this.
Wearing mostly original paint, this Camaro has a spectacular factory-correct look that looks highly authentic in every possible way. The original light blue paint was touched up here and there, most notably on the rear valence and lower quarters, but for the most part it's factory-applied stuff. As an untouched, low-mileage car (we believe the 11,537 miles are authentic), you know that the doors fit right, the sheetmetal is super straight, and if there were any "factory" flaws, they're still there. The decals are in excellent shape and after nearly 40 years, they still have bright colors and no peeling or checking, so someone took especially good care of this car. Urethane bumpers were a big part of the late Z/28's look, and they haven't cracked with age or been baked by the sun, although there's the usual waviness in the rear spoiler, which is exactly how it was when the car was new. This is a survivor in the very best sense of the word.
The serious deluxe black interior is a far cry from the cartoony vinyl caves you see in so many Camaros of this vintage. A subtle pattern on the inserts lends a sophisticated look to the performance-oriented Z, and there's little doubt that this is the original upholstery. The driver's seat shows some very minor signs of age and use, but the remainder of the interior is pretty much as the factory delivered it 35 years ago. All-original gauges in a wood applique dashboard offer a fairly comprehensive view of the engine's goings-on, and there is no radio, only a block-off plate, suggesting that the original owner was serious about his performance. On the other hand, it offers cold factory A/C, power windows, power locks, and a tilt steering column, as well as the 4-speed gearbox and center console. Even the trunk is immaculately preserved, including an original space-saver spare that appears to have never been used.
You won't find many 1979 Camaros with cleaner engine bays, and despite the 350 cubic inch V8 being the most mod-friendly powerplant in the universe, this one is pretty much stock. Cleaned, painted, fully resealed, and nicely detailed, it looks wonderful with its corporate blue paint, big shiny air cleaner, and authentic details like the tower hose clamps. Finishes and materials are correct and this car has obviously been properly stored because all the plated parts remain in excellent condition, with the original starter and alternator being rebuilt, not replaced. It's backed by the aforementioned 4-speed manual transmission and 10-bolt rear end with 3.42 gears inside, so performance is far more entertaining than you'd expect for 1979. The underside is every bit as correct as the bodywork, and is authentic right down to the catalytic converter and 2-1-2 exhaust system. Color-matched wheels look awesome against the blue paint and carry 255/60/15 Goodyear Eagle radials.
One of the best second-gen Zs we've seen, this 1979 Camaro includes a ton of documentation including a factory build sheet, owner's manual, and a window sticker, making it an investment-grade F-body that's still shockingly affordable. Call today!
