This 1970 Chevrolet Camaro SS represents Chevy's prized classic muscle car in top second generation form. It combines a high impact exterior with a great looking custom interior and a whole host of mechanical upgrades under the hood to provide a truly outstanding driving experience, complete with abundant power that becomes obvious the second you step down on the pedal.
This '70 wears a unique shade of red - it's darker than most you'll see, with a pair of broad painted black stripes over both its hood and deck lid for a properly vintage presence. The cowl hood hints at the power lurking beneath it, combining with the front air dam and rear spoiler to add a tastefully aggressive air to this classic. The paint is in good form, with nice even coloring and a strong shine, and the consistently fresh appearance of the exterior comes in part by way of the unusually extensive array of new parts on display here, including the cowl hood, front fenders, grille, front and back bumpers, front chin spoiler as well as the headlight and taillight lenses. The white "SS" badging that proclaims upper-echelon status is especially fresh and really pops against its dark red background and the striking look of all the new chrome on board really makes an impact upon first glance - this is a very sharp vintage Chevy.
The vinyl interior sports some great customization to provide a fitting accompaniment for the curb appeal of the exterior. The front buckets and rear bench seat have been recovered with two tone, black and red covers that have yet to show much wear and look outstanding sitting above black carpeting with matching floor mats. The center console sitting between the buckets is in great shape and sports one of the signature Camaro styling cues of the era- the distinctive, horseshoe-shaped shifter. A Classic Air system has been added to keep the cabin comfortable and the dash area just in front of the billet steering wheel looks outright new and features an assortment of digital gauges in the instrument cluster that illuminate the interior with their blue glow. A Jensen AM/FM/ Cassette stereo sits at the center in good working order to provide a thoroughly era-appropriate audio experience. There's no liner in the trunk area in back and with its floor exposed, so you can see that everything's straight and solid.
Raise the cowl hood and you'll come face to face with an engine bay that features quite an assortment of eye candy to surround the 350 cubic inch V8 sitting at its center, including a chrome shroud, power steering pump, master cylinder and power booster. The engine wears a pair of eye-catching aluminum valve covers and has been armed with a 4 barrel Edelbrock carb, an Edelbrock Pro Comp intake manifold, TRW pistons and a Comp Cam to provide some extra power, a nice, appealing lope and a great sounding exhaust note. The powerplant has logged under 1000 miles, so you'll have the distinct privilege of breaking it in as it teams with a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission with a 2800 stall converter that's shifting smoothly. Power brakes that feature discs up front combine with smooth power steering to make this classic Camaro an easy navigator that stops promptly when called upon as it cruises on a set of 15" American Racing wheels outfitted with Cooper tires.
