Chevrolet Camaro DANA 1968

General description : This stunning 1968 DANA Hurst Camaro RS/SS is featured in Metallic Silver with black vinyl top and black nose stripe. The interior is tan vinyl with hounds-tooth check cloth seats. This car has undergone a nut and bolt restoration to the most exacting standards. An original California Black plate car, this Camaro was purchased at DANA Chevrolet in South Gate, CA. and comes with the original Protect-O-Plate, restoration photos and paperwork. The options on this DANA RS/SS 350 included an L48 350ci (295hp) V8, Off-road Camshaft, Race Heavy Duty Suspension, 6 inch wide Hurst wheels, Traction Master traction bars, Heavy-Duty radiator, Four-Speed manual transmission, Standard Chevrolet SS package, Rally Sport package, Red Stripe tires and a Unique Cowl Plenum air induction system. Before COPO Yenko Camaro's, there were mighty Camaro's built in Southern California at a dealership by the name of DANA Chevrolet. Dealership owner Peyton Cramer, a former Shelby American employee, and manager Dick Guldstrand, a local West Coast SCCA hero, were very involved on the racing scene in Southern California. As racers, they saw the need for special built high performance cars. Thus came the DANA cars. We purchased this car at Hollywood Wheels, Mike Flynn Auction at Amelia Island on March 14th, 2015. Consigner was Vincent J. Amato. According to the window card it states: Full restoration, metallic silver with black nose stripe, tan vinyl interior, with hounds-tooth cloth inserts, 350ci/295hp V8 with 4 speed transmission, Unique Cowl Plenum Air Induction, Original Protect-O-Plate, In the DANA registry, and Photo Documentation. However, we have been unable to substantiate the claims made by the window card at Hollywood Wheels. We have since verified that this car was delivered to Harbor Chevrolet Long Beach California by a NCRS Shipping Report that we purchased. DANA Chevrolet and Harbor Chevrolet were both in the same area of Los Angeles, California. We have a Protect-O-Plate from DANA Chevrolet also, we were unable to document it being on the DANA registry. With all of this being stated there is a possibility that this car was a dealer tansfer. This is a great car and has had an impeccable restoration and the quality and the drive ability is over the top. The only questions are the lack of ability to substantiate the claims on the window card from Hollywood Wheels. This car has been to Reduced from $74,900 to $65,000 FIRM.
