Chevrolet Camaro 496 V8 1969

General description : When the words 'Camaro' and 'resto-mod' meet, a good time is pretty much guaranteed. Throw in a fuel injected 427 and silky silver-on-black aesthetics, and you end up with a tire-melting, conversation-starting muscle car that everyone will stop to stare at. This sweet F1 is a complete, road ready cruiser that features choice Chevrolet power, a stout Tremec 5-speed and a professional restoration that's been sorted over 5,000 miles of easy living. If you're a buyer who seeks absolute authenticity, we can certainly accommodate you. But, if you're one of the growing number of enthusiasts who wants to actually enjoy the performance, look, and value of Chevrolet's beloved pony car, this '69 panther is your opportunity to turn someone else's toil into your new pastime!
STERLING AESTHETICS
The beneficiary of a detailed, ground-up restoration that was completed in the not-too-distant past, this slick Chevy wears a super solid body that's dressed in Bright Silver 2-stage. That polished pigment looks brilliant under flowing side stripes and a sinister Stinger Stripe. Yet despite its heavily customized appearance, the car's trim and ornamentation remain a stylish mix of familiar attributes. Up front, a billet grille hangs attractive Rally Sport headlights above a body-matched bumper, clear parking lamps and a custom chin spoiler. Behind that grille, a shaved header leads the eye to a familiar Stinger Hood, which fronts tinted glass that centers modified frames between a filled cowl, shaved drip rails and polished stainless wipers. At the sides of that glass, sporty F2 mirrors reflect a seamless profile that's shaved of everything but Ringbrothers door handles. Opposite those mirrors, a seamless deck filler transitions to a custom spoiler. And at the back of the car, a second body-matched bumper guards a custom valence that's fashioned around billet taillights and polished exhaust tips.
BIG CHEVY POWER!
Under this Camaro's hood, 496 cubic inches of rowdy Chevy big block spins 618 dyno-proven horsepower into 557 lb./ft. of dyno-proven torque. At the top of that athletic mill, an iron Dart block that's been decked, deburred and externally balanced, a Billet Specialties Streamline shrouds a spry throttle body. That attractive duo drops fresh air in to a tall Holley intake that's wired with thick fuel rails. At the back of that lightweight plane, a hot MSD distributor fires Chevrolet-loomed plug wires. Above those cables, Edelbrock RPM heads float color-keyed Chevrolet valve covers between Comp pushrods, Crane springs, Comp solid roller lifters, a polished cap and polished breathers. Beneath those covers, a SCAT stroker crank spins in unison with a Comp custom roller cam. At the sides of that cam, a bundle of Doug's Headers turns power into rumble. At the front of the block, polished serpentine components spin a Stewart water pump between a polished alternator, a polished AC compressor and modern power steering. At the front of those ancillaries, a snazzy Be Cool radiator makes excellent use of brisk SPAL puller fans. And a Wilwood master cylinder joins trick dipsticks, polished brace bars, Fesler hood supports and a Ringbrothers clutch reservoir to detail serious performance with serious substance.
SPEAKING OF ATHLETIC
Park this panther on a lift and you'll find a clean undercarriage that, like the car's polished body, benefits from a roster of desirable modifications. Just behind the motor, an 11-inch ceramic clutch kicks a Keisler-sourced Tremec TKO600, which twists power through a custom aluminum driveshaft. That 5-speed works well with a tough GM 12-Bolt that's finished with a posi-traction differential and big, 3.73 gears. That 'DSE' branded pumpkin pushes a Detroit Speed QUADRALink, which balances a thick sway bar and modern coil-overs opposite requisite mini tubs. At the other end, an upgraded front-clip hangs fluid power steering between a second sway bar, Detroit Speed control arms and a second pair of coil-overs. At the corners of that suspension, four Wilwood calipers squeeze four drilled and slotted rotors. Charred dinosaurs traverse large-diameter, Mandrel-bent pipes, which position an X-shaped crossover between electric cutouts and aggressive Magnaflow mufflers. Power meets the pavement through monochromatic Boyd's blades, which spin 245/45ZR17 BF Goodrich g-Force T/As in front of 335/30ZR18 BF Goodrich g-Force T/As. And the car's solid, undercoated floors frame niceties like stainless fluid lines, tubular subframe connectors and a fresh stainless fuel tank.
PURPOSEFUL COMFORT
Open this Camaro's tight-fitting doors and you'll find a highly customized interior that wraps 21st century style in a nice blend of comfort and convenience. Modern bucket seats complement a recovered factory bench. In front of those thrones, a custom, leather-capped dash hangs reliable Faria telemetry next to Vintage Air climate control. At the base of that dash, a tasteful console plants a Keisler TKO shifter between flat window switches and modern Alpine audio. And the driver spins an attractive Billet Specialties Draft Wheel around billet foot pedals and a polished, tilting column.
