Chevrolet Camaro 1969

General description : By now you've probably realized your friends at RK Motors Charlotte really enjoy finding killer muscle cars. The faster, the scarier, the more unique: THE BETTER! Combining the style of yesterday with the performance of today and tomorrow, this impressive Camaro resto-mod is tailored to the enthusiast who wants to drive the absolute best. And if you've been languishing at your desk, debating a purchase while your favorite relics vanish from our inventory, it's a rare chance at sweet redemption!
4.5 YEARS
The beneficiary of a detailed, 4.5-year restoration that's barely seen 300 miles since its 2019 completion, this slick F1 sports a glistening coat of Chevrolet Rally Red 2-stage. Believed to be all-original, the car's rock-solid sheetmetal is both straight and precise. And it all adds up to one very well done classic that's tough enough to hit the road and nice enough to steal the show!
When it comes to purity of form, we really can't think of a better looking car than the first-generation Camaro. It's a solid and straightforward design that continues to age exceptionally well, especially in the company of its exaggerated and extroverted competitors. At the front of this brilliant F1, a stainless-trimmed grille hangs a familiar 'SS 396' emblem above a polished bumper and a traditional chin spoiler. Above that grille, a ZL-2 Cowl Induction Hood floats tasteful lettering between a bright Camaro header and stainless-trimmed glass that's seated behind relocated wipers. That glass, reflected in factory mirrors, caps a stainless-trimmed profile that's dotted with traditional badging, factory door handles and optional quarter louvers. And at the back of the car, a second polished bumper frames fresh taillights and a familiar D80 deck spoiler.
489 CUBIC INCHES
Toss this panther's hood and you'll find 489 cubic inches of stroked Chevrolet big block that's wedged inside a clean, professionally detailed engine bay. At the top of that 4-bolt mill, a K&N-capped FiTech throttle body feeds electronically sourced fossils to a dressed Edelbrock Performer RPM intake. That intake feeds lightweight Dart 360 heads, which frame Chevy Orange Chevrolet valve covers between roller lifters, roller rockers and a polished Chevrolet oil cap. Spark begins at a hot distributor, which is sequenced to an MSD Blaster 2 coil and MSD Street Fire Wires. Those cables fire a .030 overbore, which joins a 4.25-inch stroker crank and a mild hydraulic roller cam to produce stout, 10.5 to 1 compression. Spent gases whisk through customized Hooker Super Competition tubes. All that high performance heat is kept in check by a big Champion radiator that's stuffed between a polished expansion tank and a big pusher fan. Billet pullies spin an aluminum water pump between a modern AC compressor and modern power steering. Aesthetically, details like fresh dipsticks, a high-torque starter and a deep-sump oil pan reinforce the idea that this coupe's build focused on both performance and glitz. And, built by Mike Thomas, son of legendary mud racer Ennis Thomas, this cast iron beast presently pushes roughly 620 horsepower!
5 TIMES THE PULL
That acute focus on ability carries right over, or should we say under, to this Chevy's thoughtfully upgraded chassis. Behind the buff engine, a tough Tremec 5-speed, complete with a hydraulic clutch and a modern Neutral Safety Switch, spins a predictable 12-bolt that's finished with a posi-traction differential and big, 3.73 gears. Opposite that pumpkin, lucid power steering keeps everything pointed straight. All that 'scoot and slide' hardware rides a massaged suspension, which pairs a fused and powder-coated subframe with adjustable air shocks, stiff mono-leaf springs and quality CalTracs traction bars. Stops come courtesy of power-assisted discs and drums. Charred fossils float from the aforementioned tubes to stainless, 3-inch Pypes exhaust. And power meets the pavement through powder-coated Rallies, which spin staggered BF Goodrich Radial T/As around stainless trim rings and low-profile center caps.
5 DECADES OF STYLE
Open this F1's doors and you'll find a stylish Standard Interior that's been lovingly restored. At the center of the car, vinyl-trimmed bench and bucket seats ride snazzy black and red carpet. In front of those seats, a good looking dash complements green-lit telemetry with Vintage Air climate control. At the base of that dash, a wood-trimmed console founds a canted Hurst shifter between modern Custom Autosound audio and familiar GM accessory gauges. And the driver spins a reproduction Rosewood wheel around a modern, tilting column.
Recently we've been getting some incredible hardware that owners are selling for way under the cost of construction, meaning you - our customers - are receiving excellent deals on fantastic classics. This awesome Camaro looks absolutely predatory and is sure to attract a TON of attention wherever it goes. Looking for a first-class ticket to blacktop bliss?
