Chevrolet Camaro RS 327 V8 1967

General description : Description
The contrast between awesome vintage muscle car performance and a subtle color is always an appealing undertaking, and this cool 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS convertible looks exactly right wearing gorgeous Butternut Yellow paint with a period 327 V8 under the hood. Rotisserie restored to an excellent standard, it's a beautiful 1st generation droptop Camaro that's just dying to be pampered, ogled, driven, and enjoyed by a lucky new owner.
Although the '69 Camaro is quite likely the most popular Chevy of all time, there are a large number of folks who think the simple lines of the earlier 1st gen cars were exactly right. Compact, but muscular, the first ever Camaro was a simple design that allowed small details to have a big impact. Gorgeous code Y Butternut Yellow is this car's original color, and it looks like a million bucks from any angle. Super straight sheetmetal certainly helps, and the finish quality on this car is borderline show quality, although this is not necessarily a trailer queen. They kept the original smooth hood without any factory inserts, and there are no spoilers under the chin or on the deck lid, giving this F-body an incredibly smooth bodyline design that just cuts through wind. It came out of the factory without stripes and that's exactly how the restorers left it, allowing that great paint work do all the talking, and the blacked-out SS grille with Rally Sport hidden headlights adds a touch of aggressive flair to the package without being overbearing. Excellent chrome bumpers and bright stainless on things like the windshield surround and rocker panels molding add a bit of jewelry, and all that brightwork is in excellent shape as well. And whether the brand-new black soft top is upright and latched, or down and stowed away under the new matching boot cover, this Camaro looks fantastic.
Inside, gorgeous code 707 Yellow buckets with black insert piping wear fresh seat covers that replicate the original pattern with a matching seat cover on the rear bench. All of the soft parts were replaced or restored during the restoration, including those seat covers, the plush carpets below, the door panels, and even the dash pad looks like a new piece. A skinny deep-dish woodrimmed steering wheel is pure 1960s style, with clean original gauges clearly visible through the spokes. A factory center console splits the front buckets and houses a chrome T-handle shifter that manages the 2 speed Powerglide automatic transmission below. Options include Vintage A/C, which uses modern hardware and blows ice cold, a power convertible top, and a retro-sound AM/FM/AUX radio, so you know the former owner wanted a touch of luxury and comfort to go with his classic droptop. Overhead there's a new black convertible top and the trunk is fitted with a correct reproduction mat that fits remarkably well.
Power comes from a period 327 V8 paired with a Powerglide 2-speed automatic transmission managing the shifts just as it did originally, and the engine bay is dressed pretty much just like it would've been on the showroom floor in 1967. Aside from the modern A/C compressor, it's quite correct, from the black snorkeled air cleaner to the Chevy Orange paint on the block and valve covers. It starts easily, idles nicely, and pulls with vigor at any speed, but it's docile enough to drive every day. Original-style exhaust manifolds build power and there's a brand new dual exhaust system with stainless mufflers that sound great. Power steering and power brakes ensure a great driving experience every time out, while the heavy-duty 10-bolt rear end, monoleaf springs, and a new gas tank round out the list of virtues that come with this Camaro. Handsome 15-inch Rally wheels carry recent 205/75/14 radials for a perfect period look and modern handling.
There's a lot more than the asking price wrapped up in this slick F-body ragtop, and the classic color combination will never go out of style. Call today!
