Description : Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to present this 1970 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28! You're looking at what looks to be a real Z28, with a VERY fresh and VERY nice restoration!

The Fischer body tag denotes the Z/28 option and is available for viewing in our full photo set. The restoration was done over three years ago. The current owner purchased the vehicle with the restoration already done. Looking inside, outside, and underneath one can instantly tell that A LOT of work was put into this to keep it nice and what appears to be correct.

Supplied with the sale are some photos and documentation that appear to be from the builder denoting the drivetrains numbers and contributing to the cars authenticity. The listing information provided by a previous seller does claim numbers matching engine, transmission, and differential. Looking at the build it would make sense that this level of effort was only undertaken on an 'original' car. To validate the authenticity of the engine one would need to get the vehicle in the air to take a peek behind the oil filter. Photos of what is said to be this vehicles transmission and differential stampings are also available.

The engine is said to be the original LT-1 - an option offered starting in 1970. Since then GM has made two DIFFERENT version of the LT1 engine with the next one appearing in 1992 and after that the 2020s. For the purposes of this writeup, when we say LT1 - we are referencing the 4-bolt main LT1 present in this vehicle and offered in 1970. The transmission is noted as a M22 close ratio with 1,185 units reportedly built in 1970.

Overall the condition of this vehicle is fantastic with very few imperfections present or noticeable - remember - there's no such thing as perfect with any car. The orange houndstooth interior looks great! The gauges display a 8,000 RPM tachometer next to a 150mph speedometer and the typical array of 4 supporting gauges indicating fuel, coolant temp, amp readout, and a clock. Mounted just below the radio location are 3 aftermarket gauges displaying oil pressure, coolant, volts, and an electronically actuated switch for the exhaust cutouts!

Exhaust cutouts are the perfect party trick to have the mean sound everyone wants out of a muscle car while staying on decent terms with the neighborhood authorities when starting your vehicle. If you want just any ol' second generation Camaro then this probably isn't the car for you. IF you are looing for something that is done, well-documented, and ready to turn heads then this might be a contender.

This 1970 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is offered by the St. Louis sales staff and can be seen in full detail on our website. Our listing all include 100+ HD photos and a detailed video! GatewayClassicCars.com
