Description : Gateway Classic Cars of Fort Lauderdale is excited to present this drop-dead good looking 1968 Camaro convertible, in ocean blue & white on medium blue interior.

Every car has a story: This eye-catching Camaro was built 11D (4th week of November, 1967) at LOS (Van Nuys, California) VIN prefix of 124678L (V8 Camaro convertible, 1968), color code C 1 (Ermine White & white convertible top), with the standard 717 (blue vinyl bucket) interior. The owner purchased it as part of a settlement without any documentation, but was told it has a crate 454 in it. We do not know conclusively if it was born a base Camaro, or the RS/SS car you see today. One exciting clue is it DOES have the 12-bolt rear end, multi leaf spring, and the date code on the rear end is K 17 7 suggesting it could be a real SS car. If in fact a 1967 12-bolt casting, the date code predates the build date by less than 2 weeks, making us wonder! We will just call it one darn good looking Camaro. If it were a documented SS car, the price would be considerably higher.

The colors on this car are just stunning, and arguably superior in appearance to the original white. Paint and body look great, as do the gaps all the way around. The car certainly looks the part- and despite that tame appearance, that 454 under the hood makes it run like a scalded dog. Fortunately, someone had the wisdom to install subframe connectors to handle the high torque and further stiffen the otherwise weak convertible body.

Open the door and the medium blue interior catapults you back in time to 1968... when gas was cheap, and cars like this were tearing up Woodward Avenue and the dragstrips regularly. Many performance cars of that time ended up totaled or crushed in a wrecking yard, so it is always nice to see such a nice example alive and well. This baby fire right up and has a sweet exhaust note and it runs strong.
