There's something about a Camaro in Light Yellow that just screams 1970s. This was the first year of the major exterior refresh, and the shovel nose styling has aged into something very unique today. The revised bumpers are chrome, not body-colored as they would be in later years, so this 1974 model stands out from its siblings on both sides. You can see the authenticity in this one right down to the original LT trim badge on the rear. Because our coupe came from the factory with this upgraded package, it has some nice features like dual sport outside mirrors, Hide-Away windshield wipers, and Rally wheels – all still on car today.
The black vinyl interior is always a great complement to a yellow car. In fact, this one has been optioned to be a luxury all-black setup, but it's so authentic you'll know it came from the factory that way. The high-back buckets look great and have been given a black cloth insert for better comfort. These Camaros have an especially nice center console that frames that automatic transmission well, and does a good job of linking with the dashboard. Overall, it just feels like the Camaros had one of the best designed interiors of the 1970s. It only gets better with this one because every touchable surface from the door panels to the dash has remained crisp and sharp. This coupe feels a bit like a time machine with the original Camaro dash badging, AM/FM radio, heat/defrost, and tilt wheel attached to the soft grip sports steering wheel. It even has its factory spare tire still in the trunk! There's so much originality with this coupe that you'll even get the owner's manual, bill of sale, and warranty card.
This is an upgraded LT car, which means a 350 cubic-inch V8 under the hood. This small-block is a great powerplant with plenty of muscle to spare. This Camaro comes with power steering, power brakes (discs in the front), and a three-speed automatic transmission. So it's the perfect coupe to drive all around town and show your friends the odometer that has moved less than 700 miles per year (so far). But there's another side to this car. It's a bit of a survivor, with very nice mostly original paint, etc..., the 350 is believed to be original. No partial VIN could be found. The CMA suffix code on the engine does code for a 1974 350 bolted to a TH350. This means with all the money you save buying this budget-friendly Camaro, you don't have to be afraid to swap out any of the reasonably priced upgrades for this very adaptable motor. In fact, rest of the drivetrain from the TH350 transmission, to the 10-bolt rear end is already setup to take more power. Where else can you find a extremely clean, honest classic like this that you wont feel guilty if you decide hop it up a bit.
