Description : Gateway Classic Cars of Chicago is very excited to present this highly sought after ,mostly original 1966 Chevrolet Caprice. This Caprice's exterior is Chevy's Lemonwood yellow, with a luxurious black vinyl roof and a black vinyl and cloth inlaid bench seat that really shows well. The 1966 is part of Chevy's first generation Caprice. It was marketed as the top of the line full size Chevy. Although similar to the Impala the Caprice boasts a more formal squared off roof line, with more upscale features including a revised grille and front bumper, and new rectangular taillights which replaced the Chevrolet-traditional triple round taillights, giving this car a more up to date look.

The power is provided courtesy of Chevy's legendary 327 C I V-8 engine pared to the always reliable power-glide 2 speed trans. The mileage is believed to be original but cant be confirmed. With its power steering this one is a pleasure to drive. This is an unmolested throwback to when cars had class and originality and yet it starts runs and drives wonderfully. When driving this one down the road you will see all the heads turn to look in your direction, and when you go to car shows there is plenty room in back for all the trophy's and accolades you'll receive.

1966 Chevrolet Caprice 327 V-8 V8 is listed for sale on ClassicDigest in Tinley Park by Gateway Classic Cars - Chicago for $24000.

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
