Chevrolet Chevelle 468 CID V8 1967

General description : For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our Houston showroom is this gorgeous 1967 Chevelle Malibu. The Chevelle was intended to compete with the Fairlane, and was supposed to reflect a car similar in size to the Classic Tri-Five of the decade prior. They would go down as being some of the most memorable cars of our time. The Malibu continued its reign as the leading seller of the Chevelle, and would continue to do so throughout the Chevelle’s life, because it boasted the highest number of model options with the 4-door sport sedan, 2-door sport coupe, convertible, 4-door sedan, and 2-seat station wagon. One could get anything from a base model 300 coupe with a 230 CI inline 6 with a 3 on the tree, to a 4 door wagon with a 327 and a 4-speed manual, to a fire-breathing 375 HP 396 CID V8 in the SS model. If you wanted it, chances are it could be found in a Chevelle. With its classic "Coke bottle" styling, the '66 and '67 models were instant hits, and continue to stand the test of time. This '67, however, comes complete with a drivetrain on steroids, while deliberately maintaining a "sleeper look". Under the hood, you'll discover that there's a fuel injected 468 CID Chevrolet V8 that fires up with the powerful attention-grabbing snarl that is the unmistakable bellow of a big-cammed Rat Motor. This big block is equipped with a properly-dialed-in MSD Atomic Fuel Injection system, and a March serpentine pully system. A big Griffin aluminum radiator keeps this big mill properly cooled. Backing up the big rat is a GM 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission that twists a set of 3.73:1 gears in its 12-bolt Posi rear end. Its coated headers will look good for a very long time as they suck the exhaust gases out into 3" dual exhaust system. The body is in very good condition, and it's bathed in a nice shade of Gold Mist Metallic (color code 51U). The factory drums in the front were replaced with discs, as well as having a power booster added. The rallye wheels continue the "sleeper" motif of this classic. Open the doors, and the Medium Gold front buckets and rear bench seat, with their cloth inserts are definitely a throwback to 1967. If you have been wanting a classic car that has stood the test of time but don’t want take the rest of time to pay for it, then this Rat-powered Chevelle should be exactly what you need. Options on this 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu include Power Brakes, Power Steering, Vinyl and Cloth Interior, Seat Belts, and Radial Tires wrapped around Rallye Wheels. About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
