Chevrolet Chevelle 489 CID V8 1967

General description : This classic 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS is for sale in our Louisville showroom. The Chevrolet Chevelle is widely regarded as the symbol of American muscle, and this 1967 Chevelle carries on the spirit and improves upon it. The original 396 V8 had seen better days and the owner was looking for bit more muscle for this beauty. At 1st thought, 468 CID BBC V8 was the plan, but that engine didn’t come as long as planned, so the owner bought a fresh 489 CID BBC V-8 with AFR aluminum heads. An aluminum radiator with dual electric fans has been installed to keep this bug cubic inch motor cool, along with a max flow water pump. This Chevelle SS now has a whole lot more go than when originally produced. The manual 4-speed was also rebuilt at the time the new 489 V8 was installed. The dual exhaust was replaced at the time of the engine rebuild. Ceramic coated headers are always a great addition and keep the engine compartment looking pristine. The 12 bolt GM rear end was also rebuilt with the 4.11 gears being replaced with more highway friendly set of 3.42 gears. With the extra horsepower the brake system has also been upgraded. This Chevelle SS now sports disc brakes at all 4 corners. This car isn't all GO it's pretty easy to look at too! The gloss black paint was done in 2013 and is in excellent condition. The trim molding, badges and chrome bumpers just pop on this beast! A set of chromed American Racing Torque Thrust wheels finish off the outside look of the car. The wheels are wrapped with BF Goodrich Radial tires for excellent handling and traction. The term traction is a very subjective term with this Chevelle, due to the power of the 489 BBC under the hood. Inside this 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS you will find an all new interior done in black vinyl, and in remarkable condition. The owner has full documentation of everything done to the car. The binder is about 3 inches thick and very well organized for easy reference. Options on this 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle include; AM/FM radio with CD Player, power steering, power brakes, black vinyl interior, Radial tires with Chrome American Torque Thrust Wheels. About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
