Description : Gateway Classic Cars Houston showroom is excited to offer this beautiful Chevrolet Corvair Corsa Convertible. Few will be fortunate enough to find a car this age with such a short ownership trail - its current owner purchased this vehicle from its original purchaser (aunt and uncle); so, it has been essentially in the same family since it was purchased new. Recent work done on the car includes having the turbocharger rebuilt, along with having the head gaskets and rear main seal replaced as well. While the car is not its original white, the red paint looks great, and the chrome trim is in very good shape as well. The black interior looks very well cared for, and is "vintage 1960's cool", with its chrome trimmed gauge bezels and switchgear. This gorgeous Corvair is powered by its numbers matching turbocharged flat-six (boxer) engine, which transfers power to the independent rear suspension through its original 4-speed manual gearbox. This combination of a 180HP turbocharged flat six and 4-speed manual transmission provides plenty of pep for such a lightweight car, so it gets along quite nicely in traffic, thank you. This little red Corvair has "plenty of life left in the tank" to be a "fun to cruise in" drop-top for many years of enjoyment. This red beauty is mostly original, with the only exceptions being a handful of maintenance items (previously mentioned). The interior is covered in black vinyl and is remarkably well preserved - and why shouldn't it be? After all, this time capsule has been well cared for since new! Just a turn of the key and this 6-cylinder fires right up and sounds just like a boxer 6 should. If you have ever wondered what a 1965 Corvair drives like, now is your chance to find out. Well-preserved Corvairs are getting harder to come by and finding such a solid convertible is even harder. This showstopper is ready to reap awards and accolades and plenty of thumbs up and smiles along the way. Options on this car include its beautiful black vinyl interior, AM/FM radio, manual convertible top, seat belts, radial tires, and aluminum alloy wheels. If you can imagine yourself on the highway with the top down in this piece of automotive history, then contact us at the Houston showroom. About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
