LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1959 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible
The introduction of the Chevrolet Corvette in 1953 offered a stylish open-air cruiser to the GM lineup. Much of the credit of transforming the Corvette form a cruiser to a true sports car goes to engineer/racer Zora Arkus-Duntov, who built the car to succeed in America’s fast-growing youth market. Beginning with the newly developed small-block V-8 engine in 1955, the Corvette was transformed by Duntov into a race-bred, high-performance sports car. Understanding the need for factory performance, Duntov insisted that the high-performance parts developed and tested for the Corvette become available on the Corvette option sheet used at Chevrolet showrooms. By 1956, high performance components were available through your dealer order form like the optional “Dual-Quad” intake system and special high-lift solid-tappet camshaft which gained fame as the “Duntov Cam.”
This Corvette is powered by the optional (RPO 469C) 270 HP version of the 283 CI V-8 engine, which features dual 4-barrel Carter 2613/4 carburetors, cast aluminum intake manifold, finned alloy valve covers, and a high lift solid camshaft. It is backed by a close ratio T-10 4 Speed Transmission delivering truly brilliant performance and making this Corvette a natural choice for any enthusiast driver.
Finished in the ultra-rare and desirable Inca Silver with white coves and complemented with a striking red interior, this Corvette is one stunning color combination. It has received a complete frame off restoration by a Master NCRS Judge. The whole restoration has been documented with photos showing each stage of the process. Following the restoration, it was judged and scrutinized by the top Corvette experts earning an outstanding list of achievements including; Duntov Award, Bloomington Gold Certification, Numerous NCRS Top Flight Awards, Corvette Nationals Gold Concours Award. Other factory features include 3.70 rear end gear ratio, Wonderbar radio, and white wall tires. It also includes a Silver hard top and a White soft top.
This C1 comes with a great deal of documentation to further support how great of a car it is including: ownership history, NCRS judging sheets, Bloomington judging sheets, NCRS and Bloomington award certificates.
A Corvette Roadster with the 283/270HP will ensure driver and passenger excitement travelling down any style of road. This Award Winning '59 roadster is surely one of only a handful of corvettes to ever receive these high coveted accolades and would definitely make a wonderful addition to anyone’s collection!

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
