For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1979 Chevrolet Corvette. This Red on Red Corvette is a true survivor with original paint, interior and mechanicals. Original miles are showing 60,757. Recent maintenance items include a new battery, exhaust, radio, brakes and tires. The car has been very well cared for over the years and it shows. The original paint is in surprisingly great condition. The typical "crazing" is evident on the hood and a little on the fenders showing a nice patina. The interior looks great and is free of heavy wear. Equipment is plentiful and includes Power steering, Power disc brakes, Power windows, Power locks, Glass T-tops, Cruise control, Leather seats, Aluminum wheels, Air conditioning (needs charge) and a factory alarm. The engine is the L-48 350 and is backed by the TH-350 automatic transmission and an independent rear suspension with Limited Slip. This is a great find to enjoy on the weekends or show. Bloomington Gold has a Survivor class showcasing true survivors wearing original paint and only maintained over the years. This would be a great candidate for either.
