For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1962 Chevrolet Corvette. This stunning '62 has recently been body off restored to a pro touring theme and executed very well. The color combination will stop you dead in your tracks! Charcoal gray over red leather, yes yes yes. The wheel and tire combination look right at home with this car. All four wheels are Coy aluminum gray 5 spoke wheels with aluminum lips and are shod with 235/45ZR17s up front and 245/45ZR18s in the rear. The front end benefits from dropped spindles for a lower ride height, rack and pinion steering and front disc brakes. Other modern updates include Air Conditioning and a new Tremec TKO 600 5 speed transmission. Power comes from a rebuilt 1965 327 small block that is fitted with a Thumper cam for a great muscle car exhaust note. The healthy 327 also features roller rockers for a few extra ponies. The sound emitting from the exhaust is addictive and all you want to do is run through the gears! The build is fresh with only 1,700 miles since completion. Just enough to break it in. We have had a lot of C1 Corvettes come through over the years, this is the first one that we didn't want park!
