LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1966 Chevrolet Corvette L72
The popularity of America’s Corvette sports car had grown substantially since its 1953 debut, but 10 years later it was time for some changes for the 1963 to 1967 model years. The Chevrolet Corvette C2, (for 2nd Generation) was also known as the Corvette Sting Ray through those years. The styling of the C2 was viewed as quite radical at the time – but was also very successful. Today it is classic Corvette and perhaps the most collectable Corvette style of them all. For the 1966 model year Chevrolet made only evolutionary changes such as: the front appearance was mildly altered with an egg-crate grille insert to replace the previous horizontal bars; the Coupe lost its roof-mounted extractor vents which had proved inefficient; back up lights were now standard; headrests were now optional; and the interior door pulls were bright metal. Corvettes also received an emblem in the corner of the hood for 1966. Most significantly, the "Big Block" Models debuted that year and came with a special bubble hood to accommodate the stronger horsepower engines and to distinguish the cars from the 327’s.
This 1966 Chevrolet Corvette was produced in the St. Louis plant on February 10, 1966 and was originally delivered through Harry Mann Chevrolet in Los Angeles, California. Under the hood is the numbers matching 427 ci / 425 HP L72 engine coupled to a numbers matching M-21 4 speed transmission. This Corvette includes the following options: N14 side mounted exhaust; A31 Power Windows; Date Code Correct P48 Cast Aluminum Kelsey-Haynes Knock Off Wheels (including spare wheel); and U69 AM/FM Radio. The car has been very nicely cosmetically restored retaining many of the original components. The interior has been very well kept and retains the original black colour seat covers, carpets and more. Owner history is known and includes a period of 30 years spent on the west coast with a single owner, showing the car has been collector owned and very well maintained. This ’66 Corvette is also a NCRS award winner from 2014 which is a testament to its excellent condition.
This ’66 Corvette is an excellent driving car. Here is an exceptional opportunity to own a true classic, big block Corvette, with the look and sound that is sure to draw attention in any crowd.

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
