Chevrolet Corvette 350 V8 1972

General description : Description
This dialed-in 1972 Chevrolet Corvette possesses a rather unusual combination of both beauty and brawn, featuring a gorgeous paint job, comfortable interior, and a believed original 350 V8 under the hood. And with a quick-shifting 4-speed manual and desirable options like factory A/C, this clean, stock Corvette is practically begging for the open road. Take a closer look but do so quickly, because everyone's already itching to take this Stingray out to play.
Code 987 Ontario Orange is a handsome shade not often seen on chrome bumper Corvettes - not too brash, yet not too meek – a period-perfect color that looks great on the timeless Stingray shape. Despite being one of the more popular colors in 1972 with 4,891 Corvettes built wearing this bright tuxedo, not many have survived decades of color changes and restorations. Just a quick look at the market reveals how few are available for sale in this livery, which is a shame because with the ever-changing fashion of the world it looks pretty up to date with today's sophisticated color palettes. All the panel gaps are factory correct, and it has a fantastic gloss to the finish with none of the stress cracking in the usual spots. And when it comes to C3s, you're either a chrome bumper guy or a rubber bumper guy; this one sports the original style chrome units that frame the egg crate grilles up front and add interest to the flat rear panel with CORVETTE block letters above. The stainless trim is in excellent shape and the lenses are so clear and bright that they have to be reproductions. This is one clean-looking 'Vette!
Believe it or not, that code 417 Peanut Butter interior is how this car was ordered, and you have to admit that the combination works extremely well. Hey, there's a reason Reese's sells a lot of candy. It's also likely to be one of only a handful of cars you'll see out on the road in this color combination, making it a standout at shows and Corvette events. As a completely restored car, the line between the original components and new pieces is blurry, but that's a good thing, with new carpets working in conjunction with fresh seat covers on the buckets and matching upholstery on the door panels. The entire interior looks very fresh, with all day comfort and long-lasting durability that can only be had when using correct materials. The dash and protective pad is in great shape, with none of the cracks and weathering so many of these cars suffer from, and the factory center console houses a chrome T-handle shifter that practically taunts the driver to hammer down the gas and cycle through the gears quickly. All the original gauges remain in great shape, as does the 3-spoke steering wheel, further proof that someone cherished this car from day one even before it was restored. The options list isn't very long but you do get the best one of all – factory A/C – and it's fully functional, just like the original AM/FM stereo that's remarkably still in the dash. Color-matched removable T-Tops instantly transform this Stingray into an open-air cruiser, and although no Corvette ever made has plentiful storage space, you do get a chrome luggage rack out back, making it the kind of car you can drive cross-country with all your bags in tow.
The engine is date-code correct and believed to be the original ZQ-3 350/200HP V8, which was the base engine in 1972. Nevertheless, it makes an impressive amount of torque and moves the Corvette with enough potency that most cars are still advised to leave it alone. The factory-style engine bay shows signs of loving care throughout its life with lots of maintenance throughout, including bright Chevy Orange paint on the engine and original valve covers, along with a chrome air cleaner up top. The original 4-speed manual transmission still shifts power to the F41 7-Leaf Spring set-up out back, and a newer stainless dual exhaust system was installed not too long ago and sounds great. It's not overly detailed underneath, but it's in excellent driving condition with evidence of clean living everywhere you look. Classic Rally wheels look awesome as always and ride on a set of 235/60/15 front and 245/60/15 rear Cooper Cobra white-letter radials.
Clean, honest Corvettes don't get much nicer than this, especially if you're the kind of guy who likes to just jump in and go. Thanks to the rumbling small block under the hood, it's a party to drive, and there aren't many cars that will generate more attention than this one on a warm summer day. Call today!

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
