Gateway Classic Cars of Fort Lauderdale is pleased to present this good looking 1970 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster.

C3 Corvettes ran from 1968-1982. Roadsters like this were only available from 1968-1975, and these early twin-chrome bumper cars are highly desirable. After 1970, compression horsepower and performance declined, making the 68-70's even more desirable.

The red exterior finish looks very nice against the tan interior, and an LT-1 hood & graphics were added at some point in its life. She was Doonnybrooke Green originally. Although not a factory LT1 car, the good news is it WAS born with the optional 350 350 horsepower V8, and the engine shows the correct VIN prefix and block suffix code ("CTH")- correct for the 350/350 with 4-speed manual.

Some changes and improvements were made to the motor over time- namely headers, an aluminum (GM Winters) intake, LT1 style valve covers, and an Edelbrock Performer (Carter AFB style) carburetor. Driving is made easier with the power steering and power brakes, and well, it's a 4-speed car meaning entertainment is built right in! Ah yes, nothing quite like a small block Chevy wide open going through the gears.

The tan interior looks great and new carpeting is on order. It's vintage C3 Corvette all the way! The lighter interior color is a wise choice on a sunny day, as darker interiors can be less comfortable. An aftermarket sound system replaces the factory Delco system.

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
