Description : Gateway Classic Cars is happy to present this 1984 Chevrolet Corvette survivor. 1984 was the first year for Chevrolet's much anticipated new C4 design, which was a DRAMATIC improvement over the long-lived 68-82 C3 version on every level.

America was without a Corvette in 1983, as GM switched gears from C3 production to the new C4 design. It brought a more futuristic look, technology, superior chassis design, giving it dramatically improved performance, and fuel economy. 1984 was only the 4th year Corvettes were produced at the new state of the art Bowling Green Kentucky Corvette Assembly Line, which is still dedicated to building Corvettes today.

The exterior of this one is much better than most and is a seldom seen light blue color. The majority of 1984's were arguably red, white, or black, so it is a nice departure from the rest. Overall, very nice shape outwardly and appears to be the original paint showing some wear.

Pop open the forward-tilting clamshell hood and you will find the last version of Chevrolet's Cross-Fire Injection 350 small block featuring cold air induction. This was really cool technology back in the day, using two large diagonally placed throttle bodies, to get air & fuel into the hungry V8. It fires right up and runs strong, just like it should.

The charcoal interior is considerably better than your typical '84, showing far less than average wear and tear. On the road, this 1984 Corvette runs and drives well, and would make a nice addition to any collection or a great entry-level Corvette to knock around in and have fun. GM packed a lot of power options in the car, making it easy to drive, and comfortable.

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
