Description : Gateway Classic Cars of Indianapolis is proud to feature this 35th Anniversary 1988 Chevy Corvette from the Bob McDorman Collection! One of just 2,050 produced, this 1988 Corvette 35th Anniversary Edition from the Bob McDorman Collection shows just around 3,300 miles on the odometer and still in "right-off-the-sales-floor" showroom condition. Chevrolet continued to refine the fourth-generation Corvette for 1988, most notably by offering a (for then) radical new wheel-and-tire combination combining 17x9.5-inch wheels with enormous 275/40Z-17 tires, boasting a contact patch almost 11 inches in width. These were offered as part of the Z51 Performance Handling Package that also incorporated larger calipers and rotors measuring 12.9 inches up front and 11.9 inches in the rear. The front suspension was also revised to improve damping against harsh steering inputs. New, less restrictive mufflers produced a bump in the L98 350 CI V-8 engine to 245 HP in coupes with optional 3.07:1 performance gearing.

Despite this modest increase in power, the automotive press continued to bemoan the absence of a proper 6-speed manual transmission, which appeared in 1989. Chevrolet celebrated three-and-a-half decades of production with the special-order 35th Anniversary Edition. Offered only on coupes at an added cost of $4,795, this package announced itself with special white paint and matching painted wheels, a black roof bow, special 35th-anniversary badges, white leather seat upholstery and steering wheel cover, a console-mounted anniversary plaque and 35th-anniversary embroidering on the head rests. The 35th-anniversary package was not limited to its cosmetic enhancements.

This one is a must have in any Corvette collector’s repertoire! Don’t miss out on your opportunity to own a piece of Corvette history from straight from Bob McDorman’s personal collection!
Options on this 1988 Chevrolet Corvette include – AM/FM Radio, A/C, Removable Tinted-Glass Roof Panels, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Seats, Power Windows, Power Locks, Power Mirrors, Seat Belts, Leather Interior, Z52 Sport Handling Package and more!

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
