Description : Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom is happy to present this nicely preserved 1999 Chevrolet Corvette convertible. This is an unmolested C5 with just under 50K Carfax documented miles. Finished in Torch Red with the black convertible top and black leather interior, the 1997-2004 C5 Corvettes are poised to be the next series of desired collectables. This example is equipped with Chevrolet's LS1 (5.7L/348CID) producing 345hp & 356 lb/ft of torque. Backing the LS1 is a 4-speed automatic transmission, which sends the power out back to its rear mounted transaxle, which provides for 51/49 weight distribution. And despite the 1999 engine displacement being the same as the C4's LT1, this 5.7-liter engine was constructed of aluminum instead of iron and was a more aggressive, more durable design than its predecessor, even though the LS1 shared the same time-honored "440" cylinder block layout (meaning 4.40 inches from bore center to bore center) and the familiar 5.7-liter displacement label. This led to 0-60mph times in the mid-4 second range while still getting 18mpg city/25mpg hwy! This 1999 Corvette is sitting on a set of low-profile performance radials, which wrap its polished aluminum wheels. These 1999 Corvettes came chock full of standard options, so you can expect all the same in this one. Additional features and options on this 1999 Corvette include Air Conditioning, Aluminum Wheels, AM/FM/CD, Anti-Theft System, Cruise Control, Driver and Passenger Airbags, Power 4-wheel Antilock Disc Brakes, Leather Seating, Manual Convertible Top, Power Locks, Power Mirrors, Power Seats, Power Steering, Power Windows, Rear Defroster, Seatbelts, and Tilt/Telescoping Steering Wheel. Don't miss out on this one - call or email our Houston Showroom today!

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
