Chevrolet Corvette 350 V8 1971

General description : PRICED-TO-MOVE CHROME BUMPER 'VERT, NUMBERS MATCH 350/270HP, 4-SPEED, HEADERS

Bright red paint, a 4-speed gearbox, and a top that goes down make this 1971 Chevrolet Corvette convertible a slam-dunk, never mind the affordable price tag! Perfect for cruising, it runs well, looks great, and there's just something special about sliding behind the wheel of your own Corvette; you know, the one you've wanted since you were a kid. Well, this is it.
The paint was done a few years ago, and it does a pretty good impersonation of the original Mille Miglia Red, giving this Stingray a high-octane look that works especially well with the swoopy bodywork. It's not perfect, but it has a great overall look that shines up well on a Saturday afternoon and presents no worries when you're out on the road or parked on the street nearest your favorite sidewalk café. The respray was incredibly thorough, as there's no trace of the original color, and while they were at it, they made sure that the fiberglass was straight, so the car looks quite nice today. Sure, there are a few chips here and there, but in the Corvette world, a perfect Corvette just isn't as much fun. And if you're a fan of the early chrome bumper cars, this is the end of the line. Fortunately, all the brightwork is in very good shape, the badges and emblems are crisp, and the lenses are excellent.
The original interior is long gone, replaced by a set of correct black seat covers with a great look. Things like the carpets, door panels, and even the center console were all replaced, probably when it was repainted, and it all has a comfortable, inviting look that only time can provide. That three-spoke steering wheel is a familiar Chevrolet performance piece that certainly looks right in the vintage Corvette, and the gauges offer clear lenses and bright markings that are easy to read at a glance. At your right hand is the 4-speed shifter, along with controls for the Kenwood AM/FM/cassette stereo, which has a big pair of speakers tucked into the rear cargo bay below the convertible top. And speaking of the black convertible top, it's in excellent condition with a crystal clear rear window for those surprise rain showers.
This is the original numbers-matching 350 cubic inch V8, which in 1971 was rated at a rather stout 270 horsepower. There are a few upgrades, including an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold, Holley carburetor, and an upgraded distributor, but they made a good effort to get it to look correct, with Chevy Orange paint and finned Corvette-logo valve covers. Long-tube headers were tucked in underneath, and they dump into a rumbling stock-style dual exhaust system with just the right sound. It's quite clean underneath, too, with no rust or stress cracks, and there's no undercoating to hide behind. It's clean! There are relatively recent shocks all around, fat sway bars to improve handling, and it sits on classic Rally wheels with spinners and relatively recent 235/60/15 BFGoodrich T/A radials.
Fun and affordable, and with a great pedigree, this is the Corvette convertible you've been waiting for. Call today!

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
