Chevrolet Coupe 350 CID V8 1930

General description : This good looking 1930 Chevrolet Coupe is for sale in our Louisville Showroom. There are various theories about the origin of the term "hot rod". The common theme is that "hot" related to "hotting up" a car, which means modifying it for greater performance. One theory is that "rod" means roadster, a lightweight 2-door car which was often used as the basis for early hot rods. Another theory is that "rod" refers to camshaft, a part of the engine which was often upgraded in order to increase power output. Under the hood of this good-looking street rod is the Heart Beat of America. That’s right, the most popular V8 engine to be used in a street rod for the last 50 years, a small block Chevy engine. Cubic displacement of the V8 is a nice healthy 350 inches. The V8 is mated to a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission. The two toned green and black goes really well together. The top hasn’t been chopped down, so there is still plenty of head room inside this old Chevy. Inside, gray cloth bucket seats are up front with a matching rear bench seat in the rear. The wood ribs have been left exposed and a little of that work in progress. After all, are Hot Rods really ever done? The dash has been filled with aftermarket gauges and an aftermarket tilt steering column with a woodgrain steering wheel has been added. The current owner has owned this beauty for the last 15 years, he has just decided it is time for someone else to enjoy this beauty. Options for this 1930 Chevrolet Coupe include; Power Brakes, Tilt Steering and Aluminum Alloy wheels wrapped in Radial tires. About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
