Chevrolet El Camino 350 CID V8 1980

General description : Now for sale in our Houston Showroom is this great 1980 Chevrolet El Camino. The El Camino was Chevrolet's answer to Ford's wildly popular Ranchero. Brought out in 1959 and based off the Impala platform the first El Caminos were much bigger, and many say nicer but did not sell as well as the Ranchero and production ended just one year later. Just 4 years later though it would return, and it seems as if Chevy got their stuff together finally with production going clear into 1987. This 1980 is a great example of what a lot of people are doing with these. First, they find one that the body is in decent condition and drop a small block in it. This El Camino fits that bill to a t. This El Camino originally came with the 305, in its place they put in a nice 350 CID V8 Engine. This one has only 1,500 miles on it since it was rebuilt, she's just now getting warmed up. Backing that crate motor is a TH350 transmission which complements the small block nicely. The exterior was painted yellow with gray stripes. The custom chrome trim all around really sets the color off and is a very subtle custom touch. The new Cragar rims are covered in radial tires. Open the door and you will see an interior that is a lot sportier than most El Camino's. The bucket seats are in great condition with cloth interior. This El Camino just had all the wiring redone by Slaters Auto Works; it was also tested for any issues. The custom console is an excellent addition to this El Camino. The dash is all original and unlike most is not cracked and broken. Options on this 1980 Chevrolet El Camino include, AC, AM/FM Radio, Lumbar Support, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Locks, Cloth Interior, Power Seats, Power Windows, Custom Wheels, Tilt, Seat Belts, Vinyl interior and Rally Wheels wrapped in Radial Tires. About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
