Chevrolet El Camino 1970

General description : In today's automotive landscape, most spectators like to make hard distinctions between cars and trucks. Maybe it's an adverse reaction to excellent crossovers continually gaining share. Maybe its insecurity over sedans slowly becoming a niche product. Or maybe it's fear of electricity and autonomy completely redefining what a car is. Whatever the case, cars and trucks have always emanated from a common wellspring. For example, Ford's immortal Model A was produced in a wide array of body styles. The two-box sedans of the 1940s could be considered the largest precursor to modern crossovers. And today, most major OEMs are switching to modular vehicle platforms that can spawn everything from a sporty three-door to a full-size pickup. All that said, NOWHERE has this all-inclusive mindset been cooler, or more successful, than Chevrolet's storied El Camino. And this exceptional Camino resto-mod is a choice classic that combines a spry Chevrolet Performance LS3 with an upgraded suspension, six forward gears and timeless, all-American appeal!
NOTHING BETTER THAN A RED AND BLACK CHEVY!
It's hard not to smile when you see a Chevy this cool! Decked in brilliant Cranberry Red base that's centered on Tuxedo Black war paint, this ultimate ute is the product of acute restoration that was founded on a great mix of aesthetics and streetability. At the front of the car, a split Super Sport grille hangs a prominent 'SS' emblem between a small 'CHEVROLET' script, chrome-trimmed headlights and a broad chrome bumper. At the top of that clip, a pinned Cowl Induction Hood leads a stainless-trimmed greenhouse that's laced in tight vinyl and reflected in polished mirrors. Below those mirrors, stylish rocker trim joins clean marker lamps to frame bright door handles, classy 'El Camino' lettering and upsized 'SS' badging. And at the back of the car, a bowtie-branded tailgate centers a requisite Super Sport banner between simple taillights, a painted bed and a second broad bumper.
NOTHING BETTER THAN A SMALL BLOCK CHEVY!
Toss the hood and you'll find 6.2 liters of divine GM small block. Officially known as the Chevrolet Performance LS376/480, that trusty engine twists a respectable 495 horsepower into 473 lb./ft. of pavement-slaying torque! At the top of the block, a color-keyed Cold Air Intake slinks breeze through a polished tube to a proven GM throttle body. Smooth GM electronic fuel injection lines a composite GM intake and rectangular-port L92-style heads. Factory coils fire hot GM plug wires. A nodular crank, powdered connecting rods and hypereutectic pistons provide stout 10.7 to 1 compression. A hydraulic roller cam maximizes intake efficiency. Speaking of breathing, that smooth valvetrain funnels spent gases through coated Hooker manifolds. There's a beefy aluminum radiator that's slid between a painted support and twin puller fans. A polished serpentine drive spins a polished alternator opposite a polished AC compressor. And, as you likely deduced from our high-resolution photos, the fresh mill rolls in a clean, Satin Black frame that's finished with niceties like polished brake components, a quality Holley oil pan and familiar Corvette fuel rail covers.
NOTHING BETTER THAN A SORTED RESTO-MOD!
At the bottom of this Camino, a tough Tremec 6-speed sends power to a dressed 12-bolt axle. That stellar drivetrain is held in place by a rebuilt factory suspension that's supplemented with a beefy sway bar and tubular control arms. That suspension turns quick thanks to factory-style power steering. At the corners, power-assisted calipers squeeze a quartet of drilled and slotted rotors. Aluminized exhaust weaves its way through an H-shaped crossover, aggressive dual-chamber mufflers and polished stainless tips. And power meets the pavement via traditional Chevrolet Rallies, which spin 225/70R15 BF Goodrich Radial T/As in front of 275/60R15 BF Goodrich Radial T/As.
NOTHING BETTER THAN DRIVING A CLASSIC!
Swing the doors and you'll find a tasteful leather interior that's been cleverly customized in all the right ways. Centered in those coy components is a duo of power-operated buckets that were cribbed directly from a modern GTO. In front of those thrones, a monochromatic dash frames crisp Dakota Digital VHX telemetry next to modern air conditioning and modern, direct-fit audio. Below that dash, clean carpet, protected by color-keyed mats, anchors a factory console around a traditional Hurst shifter. That carpet crawls to ornate door panels. And the driver spins a stylish, wood-rimmed steering wheel around a tilting column.
If you're a fan of strength, class or presence, it doesn't get much better than this cool El Camino! A unique combination of gratuitous power and timeless style, this killer Chevy is a well-done classic that'll be a blast on the road and a hit at the show. Don't miss this exclusive opportunity to experience a stellar piece of American history!

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
