Description : Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this 1985 Chevrolet El Camino SS Choo Choo Customs! In the late 50s Chevrolet decided to try their hand at making coupe utility vehicle following the success of Ford’s Ranchero. As all successes go there is always another that wants a piece of the pie. With that said it wasn’t long until Chevy unveiled the El Camino and it was an instant hit selling more its first year than the Ranchero did in its first year, 2 years prior. The El camino would see 5 generations spanning nearly 25 years! Here we have an ’85 Model and a Super Sport that also happens to be a Choo Choo Customs! Its not uncommon amongst manufacturers to contract a 3rd party to customize some of their production cars. In 1983 Chevrolet contracted Choo Choo Customs to build exclusive examples of the El Camino. The El Camino Super Sports would receive a special aerodynamic polyurethane front nose from the Monte Carlo, machine turned aluminum side moldings, designer series door handle inserts, SS decals, and a Choo Choo Customs train emblem on the dashboard. It would be touted as the car the GM should have made. Only a believed 2200 were made from 1983-1987.
This car stands out! The black and silver paint with the red trim is striking! The burgundy interior hardly looks used as well as it should being this baby only has 3300 miles on the odometer. Both the title and Carfax substantiate the mileage to be true! Powering this Elco is the 305ci 5.0L V8 backed by a 3-speed automatic transmission. This Chevy has had 1 owner for the vast majority of its life. She has clearly been garage kept. The title is clean and clear and ready to be transferred into your name now. The Carfax is clean with no accidents. These cars don’t come up for sale often so do not miss your chance to have a rare El Camino that will certainly turn heads anywhere you take it! Options on this Elco are: A/C, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Windows/Locks, Cloth Interior, Seat Belts, AM/FM Radio, Aluminum Wheels, and Radial Tires. About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
