Chevrolet Impala 350 CID V8 1969

General description : For sale in our Chicago showroom is a very original 1969 Chevrolet Impala Custom Coupe. Every car has a story and this one is rather incredible. The original owner was left a Rambler when her husband passed away and didn't care much for it so in 1969 she drove to a local Chevrolet dealership to trade in that old Rambler on this beauty. She must have really appreciated this car because it received meticulous maintenance and care as she drove it over the next 9 years and accumulated only 29,000 actual miles as of 1978. After being stored for next nearly 3 decades the car was again brought out to the light of day in 2006 and received some "sprucing" up to bring it to what you see here today. The car still retains approximately 70% of the original paint and the original brocade cloth interior and carpeting that look well preserved. A few custom touches were added, including Impala fender badges and a pair of Nova SS-style hood vents. The exhaust has been upgraded with 2 1/8" pipes and Flowmaster 40's mufflers so you can hear that 350 purr. In addition to the exhaust new shocks have been added and a new Classic Car Stereo replaced the old unit and features an input jack for all your favorite tunes. B.F. Goodrich Redline tires have been added along with new wheels. Under that long hood you will find a classic 350 Cubic Inch V8 that was rated at 300 Horsepower and gave this full-size classic plenty of power to get up to highway speed. This car also came with the TH350 transmission that shifts very nice and smooth and will easily get this car cruising without hesitation. The Impala recently had some final touches added, including the correct underhood stickers, as well as belts and hoses. If you have been looking for an unmolested original car that will be reliable for many years and deliver driver comfort this one deserves a second look. Options include: Air Conditioning, AM/FM Radio, Cloth Interior, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Radial Tires, Rally Wheels. About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
