Chevrolet Impala 283 V8 1965

General description : Description
Chevy's best-selling Impala got an all-new look in 1965, a bigger, bolder, sleeker car that was still unquestionably top-of-the-line. This subtle and restrained 1965 Chevrolet Impala offers a very appealing look, V8 power, and a couple choice options that make this big cruiser a highly-desirable piece of American machinery.
You probably already know that some of our favorite cars are those that stand out for being different, and while this Impala is hardly radical, we like it every bit as much as its bright red and black siblings. It's been swapped from Crocus Yellow to a much more appealing Powder Blue, and although the shade is fairly subtle, we absolutely love the way it looks. It's not perfect, but shows very well and in certain light can almost seem to look almost white. The sleek semi-fastback Impala shape looks good no matter what color you paint it and in this shade, this Imp has a subdued look that helps with the whole sleeper attitude. Bright chrome sets off the light paint rather well, and subtle Chevrolet and 283 emblems and Impala script show everyone that this isn't exactly Grandma's cruiser at the red light. From the outside, there's just no question that this is one of those amazing original cars that has been loved all its life.
Inside, we really like the contrasting black upholstery on the bench seats, new dash, and plush carpets, adding a layer of depth to the car. The upholstery is in very good shape, and the seat covers and door panels are handsome and durable, which means this big cruiser is ready for some long-distance trips. A matching headliner above is stretched taut, the black carpets are plush and as a full-sized car, there's plenty of stretch-out room for everyone. The new dash, painted black, is free of cracks and is adorned with handsome wood applique trim and includes an original steering wheel wrapped in a vinyl covering for added comfort. All the gauges are original with a trio of aftermarket gauges under the A/C, and an aftermarket AM/FM/Cassette stereo head unit was installed in the factory slot, so the dash didn't need to be cut or modified. Passengers quickly spot the aftermarket A/C, which uses R134a refrigerant so it's blowing nice and cold, and the finished trunk is big enough for just about everything you'd like to take with you on a road trip.
The period-correct 283 V8 under the hood may very well be the car's original, but it's been nicely repainted so pulling a VIN stamp wasn't possible. It is correctly coded with a GF suffix code, and it remains completely stock and detailed to a level that would make anyone proud to show it off. It's so tidy we have to believe it has always been well-cared for, including the bright Chevy Orange paint on the block and valve covers, the black snorkeled air cleaner, and the painted inner fenders and firewall. Ram's horn exhaust manifolds feed a burbling dual exhaust system that's exactly right for this semi-luxury coupe. The underside is original and in very good condition, with lightly undercoated floors that have nothing to hide. The 2-speed PowerGlide automatic transmission feeds the original 12-bolt rear end, which carries highway-friendly rear gears so it's a fantastic cruiser, especially with the help of power steering and power front disc brakes. Original cars just drive better, and this car's suspension ignores bumps with nary a squeak or rattle coming from underneath. Painted steel wheels with beauty rings and Bowtie center caps are wrapped with 215/75/14 Michelin whitewall radials all around to complete the look.
We love these big luxury/muscle coupes, and with a nice restoration, a great color combination, and V8 power, we're sure you'll love this incredible Impala, too. Call today!

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
