Offered in many different styles and engine sizes, the Chevrolet Impala was an enormous success. Style options were a 2-door convertible or coupe, to a 4-door sedan or station wagon and engine options ranged from a small block 283 to a 409 with a whopping 409HP. Chevrolet again offered the Super Sport option for Impalas for the 1962 model. The Beach Boys even went as far as to produce a hit single titled “409” in which the ‘62 409 Impala SS is referred to. Through this and its massive success on America’s drag strips, this first-generation muscle car achieved massive notoriety and fame in the early 60s.
This 1962 Chevrolet Impala SS was built in the St. Louis Assembly Plant during the 2nd week of May. Powered by its “QB” 409/409 dual four barrel carburetor engine and backed by the mandatory 4-speed manual transmission, this impala is also complete with a Delco dual point distributor, mechanical valve lifters, power steering, and a 4:56 Positraction rear end. It is finished in code 923 Roman Red exterior with 874 Red bucket interior, as listed on the trim tag. The unsuspecting power produced by the 409 Impalas makes these cars some of the ultimate sleeper first generation muscle cars.
This ’62 Impala SS 409/409HP is a very collectible and increasingly rare find. The power it produced in 1962 made it one of the fastest cars on the road and enabled it to dominate the drag strips all across the USA to help create a true American icon. In beautiful Roman Red with Red interior, this Impala represents one of the greatest first generation muscle cars of all time.

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
