Lift the hood and immediately be impressed. Chevrolet downsized this generation of Malibu because the big block era was over, but this one rectifies that mistake. So you have a lightweight setup with a thundering 454 cubic-inch V8 heart. It's a tidy and mighty package that includes an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock intake. It's even built with the right supporting components, like a serpentine belt system, fabricated valve covers, and an aluminum radiator w/electric fans. The big block fires up readily while making a terrific tune out of the X-pipe dual exhaust. The upgraded suspension with tubular front A-arms, sway bars front & rear, boxed rear control arms, three-speed automatic transmission, and power steering make this a great all-around driver. You even have a four-wheel power disc brake upgrade for superior stopping power.
This is the ideal classic. After all, you'll convince everyone that you bought a versatile family vehicle with plenty of cargo space. But really it's the big block power that sold you.
