Chevrolet Malibu 350 CID V8 1979

General description : This 1979 Chevrolet Malibu is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. 1979 would bring in a whole new way of thinking at GM. With the gas shortage upon them and smaller Japanese cars making their way into the US the decision was made to go with the times which meant smaller is better. This would actually turn these cars into much sought after street machines today. With its front engine rear drive platform the Malibu lineup is the perfect "Modern Age" Hot Rod. This particular 79 has been gone through with the original motor long gone and a freshly built small block installed it has the power that GM should have put in it to begin with. The black and red paint accents the box body lines while giving it a very fresh look. The Turbo 350 Transmission feels great, with firm and positive up shifts reminding you that this little two door has some kick. The freshly restored wheels look great with the all new GM grill finishing off the exterior nicely. The interior, much like the rest of the car, was redone as well. The middle console was replaced along with new door panels. With basically all of the plastic redone the decision was made to put in new carpet, headliner, and of course seat covers giving this 79 a super clean interior. These cars have been growing in popularity and price so you may want to take a closer look at this one before it’s gone. Options on this 1979 Chevrolet Malibu include; AM/FM/CD, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Power Windows, Tilt Wheel, Seat Belts, Cloth &Vinyl Interior, And Aluminum Wheels wrapped in Radial Tires. About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
