Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS 454 454 V8 1970

General description : There is a lot to love about this 1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS 454. It has an awesome factory-correct two-tone, a loaded A/C interior, and its numbers-matching big block has been enhanced for added muscle. There's even extensive paperwork that comes on this true classic that's terrific for modern cruising.
Astro Blue and Fathom Blue is a timelessly attractive and sophisticated color combo. It makes this Monte Carlo look like it belongs cruising the coast line of Monte Carlo. We have the paperwork that shows it's the factory original setup, but it has been updated later in life, and even given a hint of metallic. The result is a sharp-looking car that also has pedigree. This was the first year for the Monte Carlo, and the design shows why the personal coupe would remain popular at Chevy. The bright front end, curvy rear fenders, full-length rocker trim, and form-hugging bumpers make for a stylish hardtop. This one is quite stock, but you will spot some upgrades. The large polished exhaust tips suggest the right big block attitude, and the upgraded 18-inch Foose wheels add extra shine while also letting you fit better modern tires.
The sea of blue continues inside to give this premium coupe a harmonized and truly distinct appearance inside and out. The bench seats give you plenty of room to seat up to six in comfort. But this is a personal coupe, and so that means a driver's car at its heart. You have a tilt steering column, full round gauge package w/tach, and a dash with all the control easy to reach within the burled walnut simulated wood paneling. And because this wants to be a better modern cruiser, you have some well integrated upgrades. The factory air conditioning is blowing cold with modern R134a refrigerant; there's an auxiliary gauge trio to keep a full eye on the motor; and the retro-style AM/FM digital tuner with aux input means upgraded driving music.
The top-dog in the Monte Carlo lineup was the 454 cubic-inch V8, and this real-deal Super Sport continues to carry its numbers-matching big block today. But you can also see they gave this one plenty of investment. It has an upgraded air grabber feeding the Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, an aluminum intake, and even an aluminum radiator w/electric fans to help keep the package running cool. The headers add both power and rumble as they feed the X-pipe dual exhaust. The TH400 three-speed automatic transmission is already known for its robustness, and this one kicks it up a notch with a TCI unit that includes a stall converter. This feeds a stout 12-bolt rear end, and the rear suspension also beefy with boxed arms and a sway bar. More than just out to handle big power, and true Monte Carlo is also an easy cruiser. That's why you have features like power steering, power brakes, and front discs.
There were only about 3,800 true 454 SS Monte Carlos like this made in its inaugural year. So a true classic like this also needs excellent paperwork. That's why the sale comes with a copy of the factory buildsheet, original installment sale contract (bill of sale), owner's manual, title documentation all the way back to 1970, and maintenance records. This is an all-around awesome big block coupe, so you know it needs to be in your garage. Call today!!!

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
