Chevrolet C10 1966

General description : Up for sale in the Houston showroom is one monster Chevy, the 1966 Chevrolet C10!The C/K line was Chevrolet and GMC's full size pickup truck line from 1960 to 1999. After 39 years the line was replace by the Silverado line up but the C/K's are still highly sought after and make great platforms for some of the nicest looking hot rods today. This particular ‘66 has been completely built from the ground up with no expense spared during the build. The truck was taken completely off the frame and stripped down starting with just a shell. The frame was completely boxed and reinforced with a 4 bar system. The rest of the components are matched to hold the extreme horsepower and gives the underneath a very finished look. The body was then painted with a gorgeous white that is very similar to the famous Oxford white. The chrome on the truck is in impeccable condition with no signs of pitting anywhere. Pop the hood and you will see one of the nicest engine bays you have ever seen. Stuffed in the engine bay is a 496 cubic inch stroker motor. Topped with humongous aluminum heads, BDS blower and twin double pumpers. Shredding the tires with 850hp through a fully bullet proofed 700R4 with a gear vendors overdrive. Full coilovers keep this bad boy riding on rails and big 4 wheel disk brakes help to whoa it down during spirited driving sessions. Leather guts keep you comfortable on road trips and a kickass sound system if you feel like being a sissy and listening to some tunes instead of 850 horses! Options on this 1966 C10 Fleetside Shortbed include; Am/fm cd player, power steering, leather seats, seat belts, power brakes, 4 wheel disk brakes, Aluminum alloy wheels wrapped in performance radial tires. About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
