Description : Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is proud to offer this unique 1959 Chrysler 300E Sport Coupe. This car is one of the rarest classics on the market today as the total sales included only 522 coupes and 125 convertibles! Finding one in this condition with its numbers matching drive train is near impossible. The 1959 model year saw the Hemi engines replaced by Chrysler's new Golden Lion wedge-head V8 at 413 cu in displacement (which Chrysler called "lion-hearted"). Power output was claimed to be 380 hp! This numbers matching engine is mated to the original 3-speed automatic transmission that is actually push button operated and puts the power to the ground through a posi traction rear end! The odometer is reading 80,043 and this is believed to be the miles on the chassis, the car did undergo a frame off restoration and the drivetrain has been rebuilt to keep it running strong. During the rebuilt, a Vintage A/C system, new front suspension, new paint, new interior was all redone. The current owner bought the car about 10 years ago and the car was already restored so we estimate the restoration to be 12-15 years old. This car runs and drives strong! Walking around this car you instantly notice the bright white gloss paint, chrome wire wheels with white wall tires, and chrome accent trim. The interior is in show quality condition with tan vinyl and cloth that flows well with the white exterior. Notable features on this car would be the power steering, power brakes, power windows, AM Radio, power windows, and so much more! If you are looking for a collector's piece, it doesn't get any better than this rare Chrysler 300E! Do not let this one pass you by.

About Chrysler
The Chrysler Corporation, one of the "big three" was founded by Walter Chrysler in 1925

Apart from artdeco(isque), airflow and airstream models, Chrysler's early years may lack lustre in design terms but not in technical. Their list of early automotive "firsts" includes Floating Power i.e. Rubber engine mounts, replaceable oil filters, downdraft carburetor, and four-wheel hydraulic brakes.

Things were to change after the war, Exner revived Chrysler production car design with the sleek, sculptured Forward Look designs of 1955 that transformed the product line overnight. The flagship in 1955, Chrysler 300, came with HEMI power. The 300, arguably the first muscle car, became a legend on and off the race track and set records throughout the 1950s, The Legend of Hemi was born.
